America's Transformation

After 4 years of Trump 2.0, will the US be considered a fascist state, much like Russia?

With the election of Donald J. Trump to his second term as POTUS, the US is rapidly experiencing an extreme makeover
in terms of both domestic and foreign policy. Considering the radical and far-right moves that have already taken place in the
first 45 days of his presidency, it begs the question, what kind of country will America be after 4 years of this administration?

I was thinking on this and while it may make many view the USA as a fascist state at the end of the four years. The biggest and possibly more damaging part is that it will take decades to restore any level of trust. The past two months have shown that the current leaders of the USA are untrustworthy and at best fickle when it comes to dealing with anyone who isn't part of their inner circle. I'd even go as far as to say that anyone who's part of the inner circle, should be wary, you're only one temper tantrum away from being on the receiving end.

I think the world is smart enough to distinguish the stupidity of one man & his cronies vs subsequent administration.
That is of course, if we don't a the first 3rd term POTUS in history.

Now if ANYONE had any common sense in this country -- Trump, Vance and all of the MAGA Republicans (including Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh) would be run out on a rail. Let's see how the 2026 Midterms play out.

This doesn't really work either. Even if the US is lucky to get somebody much more sane if we have another election, why would any other country trust us if some Trump like idiot can just be potentially elected 4 years after that? There just isn't any reason to ever trust the US long term anymore, and generational damage has probably been done with this.

Fair enough. I guess I'm just optimistic. Like a good lifelong friend who starts acting like an asshole because of a drug addition. When they are in recovery, you know they could relapse, but if they are a good enough friend, you'll give them another chance. Or maybe that's too much "Butterflies and Rainbows"...

It's early in Trump's second term, but it really feels like his third term already (one was from a distance). He will be 82 in 2028 - Biden's current age. After so many years on the stage, even his supporters will be sick of him. I see his cult being disparaged by 2026.
