There was a mass shooting in a school in Scotland in 1996, the UK government immediately put in place stricter gun controls.
Number of mass shootings in the UK since then?
None.

Even after 1996 you still have the 2010 Cumbria shootings (12 dead), as well as your ongoing IRA attacks (2009 Massereene Barracks shootings, etc).
Point taken that there haven't been as many shootings, but it's not like the modern UK (aside from IRA stuff) was really gun-happy to begin with.

On topic, if this goes to a contested convention, I really hope it gets televised live. You know people are going to watch just to see if something happens.

I really don't care about the GOP (nor the Dems), but I approve of this. Perhaps some of the gun-crazy nuts will end up shooting each other.
