Okay, for once and for all, I'm going to clear up the exact details of "my background" (partly because I'm sick of people speaking Spanish to me! It makes me feel stupid that I can't understand them and that's so wrong!). I was born in Massachusetts to a Jamaican guy & Italian American woman. I was put up for adoption and taken by a white American man and a white Dutch woman. We lived in Pittsburgh until I was three then we moved over to England where I've lived ever since.
