Statement: bin Laden's blood 'will not be wasted'


CAIRO (AP) - Al-Qaida has issued its first confirmation of Osama bin Laden's death in an Internet statement posted on militant websites.

Friday's statement by the terror network says bin Laden's blood "will not be wasted" and it will continue attacking Americans and their allies.

Bin Laden was killed Monday by U.S. commandos during a raid on his hideout in Pakistan.

They have never once denied the death of one of their leaders after we'd officially announced it.

Reason being is they typically see such announcements or pronouncements if you will, as their way of honoring the martyrdom among their followers.

The reason for the delay in the pronouncement was likely because they were in a scramble and didn't want to risk poking their heads up until they thought the coast was clear. 'They' probably didn't or don't know if they are close to getting the double tap or Hellfire greeting themselves.:2 cents:

Well uh, these people consider themselves in open warfare with us. As such we have ROE protocol. Within one of those protocols is our ability to drop bombs on them.

In the situation the team was in that took him down, there was NO CHANCE for OBL...not necessarily because they were there to take him out. But because they weren't going to risk anything with him or that situation.

Even if they wanted to Al Qaida wouldn't be able to deny his death with believability. Osama had always been careful to state recent current events in his video messages for the purposes that others couldn't claim it was a pre-recorded message long in the past and to prove he was still around and alive. That's not possible now since he's dead.
