Airlines Consider Standing-Room-Only Fares

On the plus side, surely that'd cut down on the number of flights, right?

As a traveling businessman, fewer flights is definitely not a plus but I appreciate you trying to see the good in this.

As a city man who doesn't want his eventual kids breathing jet fumes, fewer flights is definately a plus.

Standing for a minimum 45min flight??? No thank you....dumbest idea since invading Iraq.

Doubtful FAA will eliminate the rule for seat belts which would seem to be a major obstacle to seatless tix.:dunno:

This is ridiculous. The same guy wants to charge overweight customers more, and charge for using the bathroom.

Who would pay to stand in a plane for a couple hours??

I understand that. Guess you'd feel differently if you had the gross misfortune of being someone like me. The irony of your desire is, however, if there are fewer flights and SRO is standard operating procedure, more and more of us biz guys will be forced to drive where we go, increasing not only exhaust emissions from automobiles but traffic congestion on the highways as well. I don't care what the airlines do with their flight options....if I have to consider going SRO, I'm not going, period. Fill up the Chrysler and off I go!

I hope you get an opportunity to take an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to New York being strapped into a standing position sometime! (not really) :D

No thanks. The air in the plane sucks as it is now dont need any more people on a plane.

I'd only pay for standing room air fare is if they have strippers dancing on the pole for entertainment.

Brilliant, what are they going to strap us to? Or do they intend for us to tumble around during landing and take-off?

What a load of bullshit. Just another way for airlines to fuck a few more dollars out of people. :thefinger

The guy who owns this airline is notorious for doing things to get media attention. He implemented pay toilets on the planes and a few other policies in order to save money.

Is somewhere outhere.
Ryanair had mentioned about this last week.Surely there's health and
safety issues there with regards to take-offs and landings. :)

Ireland will never allow it & even if it did, Ireland isn't so big you need an airplane to get from one side of the country to the other, it means at least one other country that Ryan air flies to has to change it's safety regulations.

Don't know about China though, but it'd only be allowed for internal flights.

This guy is a moron, what a hare-brained scheme brought this one on? And charging overweight people more or pay toilets...then :wtf: does my airfare actually pay for?

I'm getting tired of these business always trying to cut corners because they didn't make as much money as last year....idiots

Nothing! Those who survive are strong. Those who die are weak! :helpme:

Whoever came up with this should be shot, buried... dug up and shot again!
