yup nothing is 100% effective
I forgot the Biblical take on things there, but did God tell Mary what the deal was as soon as she was preggers? Cuz if he didn't, I'd bet that it could've led to some crazy fights between Mary and Joseph (Her: "Did you do something to me in my sleep??!!!" Him: "No, you're just a lousy whore!")...
Seems like telling her ASAP would be the ethical thing for God to do in that situation, no??
