I think that local Hall of Fames are a waste of time.

The 'World Title' is what counts

sweden owns technical death metal in my opinion...some great ones have been mentioned but meshuggah also deserves to be included, love 'em or hate 'em they're on another level when it comes to technical rhythms and complex time signature changes

sometimes they go pretty far with their sound, but theyve been consistent. im sure in time, they will be in there.

for the u.s. hall of fame the band has to be around for at least 25 years, right? does the same apply for the swedish one?

According to the article it seems to be more of a museum of popular music from the 1920s and onward than a regular hall of fame.
I do hope they do something with those who never get any headlines, since Sweden is pretty big in the world of hardcore punk too.

Iguess I should be more specific, but its hard to describe. There's Johan Hegg's guttural bear growl, which is ideal IMO, then there's flat out screaming like Randy Blythe in the Burn the Priest days, and a shitload of stuff in between. Also, put At The Gates in the Swedish Hall of Fame.
