I was chatting with my uncle the other day while we were in his car coming back from shopping. And the discussion somehow moved to criminals and how the police ***** would handle the situations that arose.
I said that "I thought" the normal police ***** in America would deal with things, unless it became bigger than a normal violent incident. If this happened then the state troopers or FBI would get involved. Now here is the question I want to ask.
Is the state troopers allowed to go into any state after a criminal if they are chasing the criminal and the crook crossed the line into another state. Or does the state trooper only have jurisdiction in the state they are assigned to. So if the crook managed to get out of say.... Texas and into a neighboring state would the Texas State Trooper's jurisdiction end at the state line and it would then be up to the state trooper in the state the crook went into to catch them?. My uncle said a state trooper can move about freely in and out of any state and follow or catch crooks in any state. This true?.
**** I hope I didn't get muddled up while typing that lol.
Thanks for any info on this little question of mine
