so, in order to put your mind to rest: the date never happened but I will still get half of the money (other half goes to Danni.com), and I will certainly donate at least half of the money to the Katrina victims (I hope all you guys donated already too).
Now, here is why this date didn't happen: the guy that won the date ALWAYS outbids everyone else on danni.com. He is in love with all the danni girls and it's just like some kind of pasttime for him to outbid everyone and then (most of the time) not to show up. He is some ultra rich guy who lives in Mexico and owns parts of Burger King and other big chains.

And imo; I think you should keep all but say 50 or 100 of the 'date' money. According to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, the U.S. government has already pledged 61 Billion dollars. Your generous $750 donation will equal 1/81333333th of the total that the government will probably end up giving. They need volunteers (imo), not money.
So, it's a nice thought, but it means didilly squat. This isn't like that tsunami back at Christmas that wrecked the poor countries. Surely you can think of something better to do with that money - like saving it - then giving money to a cause that is already extremely well financed. And it's your tax dollars anyway. SO I would make the gesture of 50 to 100 and pocket the rest.

I noticed that it was always the same guy that bids on the girls. Oh well, all the better for you. You get the money and don't have to do any of the work.

I am surprised that somebody hasn't already tried to artificially raise the price of the auction if they know he is already going to outbid them.
