Was watching the movie with Nicolas Cage this last night. Had tears in my eyes when they got rescued and the families were informed. :o

A very surreal day for me as well as for many of you. I was on my way to a merchandising job. As usual I am listening to the Howard Stern show during the drive. He is doing his usual **** when he starts getting reports of the first plane hitting. His show and staff suddenly shifts to news mode. The second plane hits. What the fuck is going on? I go into the KMart a few stores down from my gig where I know TVs are on. Only 5 of us are in the electronics department watching the smoke pour out of the towers. The news people have no idea what is happening and are reporting anything handed to them. A few of them were reporting up to 7 planes hijacked.
After both towers fell I ran over to my gig. I was late but didn't care. My boss and all of the other people in the store had no idea what had just happened. I run to my boss and the other staff telling them. They are thinking that I am some sort of fucking lunatic.
"This is real people! This is very real! You better start believing me very soon. I'm going home. Shut this job down."
One of the guys with us is in The Reserves. He tells me that if this is true then he'll be getting a call soon..and that he did. When came back to work some time later, he could only tell us what happened to him:
It was the call. He was to gather with others at a particular spot downtown. Fly up the turnpike. The tolls will be open for him on the GWB. At his point he was handed lists. Names. Vehicle descriptions. Plate numbers. This is your radius from your designated starting point. Cover your area searching for anything on these lists and report back here at X o'clock. That's all he could tell and this is why from my thinking. He got that call at about 10:00. Those lists were printed and ready with a plan and knowledge by the time they would get there. His drive from call to destination was about an hour. Less than 3 hours after the **** first started.

^ Pretty hard memories for you I imagine. I remember my *** yelling "New York City's gone!" while I'm ******. I jump up like "What do you MEAN New York City's gone?!?! Make sense damn it!" He should have been more clear because that's not a good thing to be told at all, especially when you first **** up and don't know what the heck's going on. Later that day watching the buildings fall... it was live and the people were screaming and running... that feeling of dread you get in the bottom of your stomach when you believe you're totally fucked. I was feeling that. I was definitely concerned more attacks were going to occur by the end of the day. All the landmarks in America were darting through my brain in a moment of confusion, wondering which one's the next target.
