911 caller in Gates' arrest says she never referred to race

It was a slow news day so they tried to force the issue. Hopefully the hired protesters Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton can see it for what it is and call off their smear campaigns.

If I know the white house chief of staff as well as I think, the guy is going to figure out a way to turn this fiasco into a false positive.

I had this dream ~
I can just see the three of them now - the professor, Barrack, and the sarge, in that order, arm in arm, hoisting a frosty beer mug, one day before the Senate vote on healthcare. :glugglug:

:1orglaugh:rofl::laugh:

I didn't read the corresponding article but assuming Gates felt the police responded to and treated him inappropriately..what would that have to do with whether the caller referred to race or not?

What's really on the agenda ? Any guesses ? Why do they feel that there's a need to keep us preoccupied with such nonsense? :spin:

Well this guy seems to think it's to smokescreen us of from something(s) that are otherwise not apparent.

I asked that he shed some light on the things he sees that the rest of us are apparently being blinded to. As yet I have not received an answer nor response.:dunno:

so, it's just an ordinary citizen concerned about a break-in, calling the cops. but the media needs to turn this everyday occurrence into a scandal.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/07/27/gates.arrest/index.html

Police officer Crowley lied, lied and lied in the police report.

Officer Crowley wrote on the report he spoke to the woman before he approached Professor Gates and entered the house. The woman never spoke to Officer Crowley.

It is a lie !

Officer lied, lied and lied and wrote whatever fit to protect themselves from illegal , bully tactics !!:nanner::rolleyes: :fight:

Cambridge Police officer Crowley is a liar !!!!!!!!!!!!

Attorney Wendy Murphy, who represents Whalen the woman who called 911, also categorically rejected part of the police report that said Whalen talked with Sgt. James Crowley, the arresting officer, at the scene
.
:nanner:

That's true. Her attorney has said that the woman DID NOT have a conversation on the porch with Sergeant Crowley where she said the suspects were black. This means she is disputing what's in the police report, someone is mistaken here.

On the other hand, her attorney looked silly in the press release by splitting hairs on whether or not Lucia Whalen would be considered a "white woman" because she is of portugese background with a slightly olive skin tone....WTF??

Aside from the part about whether she's actually white because she's portugese-american she did shed some light by saying her client doesn't live in the area so she didn't really know Dr. Gates.

How do you know Mrs. Whalen isn't lying? Did you think of that possibility before you went crazy with the font?

I just reread this and noticed that you're combining parts of the story.

Sergeant Whalen said he had a conversation with a woman on the premises who said the men were black. For all we know Mrs. Whalen, the one who called it in, was not the woman he spoke to. From what we can gather of the press release, there were two women involved. The one who called it in, and the one who was at the scene when Mr. Crowley arrived. I wonder if Sergeant Crowley A) Noted that in his report and we're just mistaken B) Didn't ask in his report and so is mistaken C) is lying. Mrs. Whalen has said through her attorney that she was unaware of the race of the two men, saying that one could have been Hispanic but she wasn't positive.

This might be it. Obama looking bad on healthcare fight, so this story makes it big? But how does it make the President look good? I can say the Repubs did it, but he was already floundering on his own, why get involved with some case? Heck the other racial issues Sotomayor's "White man" comments and the Ricci v. New Haven case have kind of backfired on the Republicans.

I didn't read the story, but what is the big deal here? so what if someone mentions race... when you are phoning in a police report isn't it standard procedure to describe the person you are dealing with?

"Put out an APB on...a person."

"Dispatcher, could you be more specific?"

"This is the 21st century, officer. I thought we looked past those things. Didn't you take the sensitivity training?"

Edit:

Ok, so I just read the article... I still don't see what the controversy is.

I guess the moral of the story is that police should never arrest any rich or important people, no matter what.

I believe Obama is pretty determined in his efforts toward health care reform. I doubt his calculus is that he needs to deflect attention away from perceived defeat and relegate it to a fourth page news item.

His efforts would likely be to direct everyone's attention toward the discussion.

Doing the reverse would be like Bush and Cheney steering our attention to everything but 9/11 because national will may not be where they were on invading Iraq.

Doesn't add up with my number cruncher.
