You know who loves people? My cat. I keep him behind 3 layers of security so he cannot get out. People are his companions and servants. He's 9 years old and has never been mistreated once nor has anyone even raised their voice toward him. He sees me and recognizes me as bigger than him but he envisions himself as better. You should see the sneer I see and the badmouth I hear if he can see any of the bottom of his food bowl. Everything he does cracks me up so I just allow it to happen.

If house cats were 100lbs. heavier, they would eat us. They think of us, as THEIR pet. My cats curl up and snooze in the sunlight streaming in, and make no effort to look up when my wife or I make any noise. They do that because they genuinely believe they are the apex predators of the house, which, of course they aren't. I know they don't comprehend opposable thumbs, and the ability to handle a firearm, so they can't be the apex, but they think they are. No fear, total security in their space. My house, and I worry about security, more then they do.
