OK, story time... I told this one before. You brought up Rodney Dangerfield. I worked at a gym and would see Rodney almost every day. He was a cheap cheapo driving a Lincoln with a big dent in the door and wearing the same blue warm-up outfit every day. Anyway, one time I was the manager in charge. I get a call from upstairs. They say, "Rodney locked himself out of the quarter lockers." It's fairly early in the morning and I go up the stairs into the locker room. The first thing I see is Rodney, totally naked facing my direction yelling on a pay phone. The image of Rodney naked with his tiny cock flopping around as he yelled is permanently burned into my psyche. The Horror...

I love that guy. He was awesome in "Bubble Boy".

I read that the role of Archie required Carroll to say many things he was very uncomfortable saying, and in fact was very much the opposite of Archie. And he and Sally Struthers did not get along AT ALL.

Personally, I loved the show, and loved Archie, but his role as Chief Bill Gillespie, in , "In The Heat Of The Night", was my favorite thing he did.

I've told this story before. I worked at a gym where Alan Autry, who was in In The Heat Of The Night, was a member. Alan was a super nice guy but would forget his head if it wasn't connected to him. He always forgot his membership card and we became friends from me vouching for him all the time. He invited me down to the set of In The Heat Of The Night. I told him I would go but I didn't want to go because I would see Carroll O'Connor when he wasn't Archie Bunker. My dad played a cruel trick on me on Halloween when I was a kid. He said go knock on Edith Bunker's door. Some mean New York lady who hates children named Jean Stapleton answered the door. I was crushed as All In The Family was my favorite show.
