50 best steakhouses in America

I have been to 4 of these

Oliver's Prime-LA

Cattleman-OKC

Christos- Queens NY

Bern's- Tampa Florida

I was hoping a no frills joint in Wilson NC called The Beefmastor Inn would make the list because it is the best I have ever had. I would rate Cattleman as my favorite with Christos, Bern's and Oliver's Prime following in that order.

Is The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo on there? Other than Ruth's Chris, that's about the only steakhouse that sticks out in my memory.

There are several on the list from Texas. I may have to make my rounds before moving to Cali in the Spring. :p

EDIT: Then I may have to make my rounds at the ones in Cali... XD

WHO IS COMING WITH ME!?

Interesting you mention that. I have been to Amarillo, it is like the trucker's Las Vegas. Is that the place that offers the 5 lb steak that if you can finish it all, it is free?

Gorat's in Omaha is okay. Johnny's is where it's at in Omaha, though. Peter Luger in NYC was frickin' awesome. And 801 Prime in the Principal Building, Des Moines has some of the best cuts you'll ever enjoy. And if someone ever invites you to a Shula's Steakhouse, go.

But nobody grills a slab o' meat better than me.

I have been to #44 Prime in LV..........Very nice

As hard as it may be to comprehend - Circus Circus in Vegas has one of the finest steakhouses out there. I know - hard to believe knowing how big of a dump that place is and how their cheap buffet is one of the worst on the planet but the steakhouse is stunningly awesome

Anyone been to Tad's by Madison Square Garden? Cafeteria line to get a gnarly piece of meat with the whip marks from the jockey that was riding it. Big piece of garlic toast and a salad all slopped with collected grease drippings. A dining experience truly enjoyed before any hockey game.
