Yesterday, the new HDMI interface, 2.0, was unveiled. It brings 4K at 60fps, which means we can now get porn that feels like you're "right there in the room". Also, a slew of 4K TVs with this new interface will be sold next year - high-end early adopter models sell this year - along with an anticipated 4K Blu-Ray format coming next year and 4K 3D coming not soon after. A new video codec called h.265 will arrive next year and that will enable porn sites to pump out 4K content at low file sizes compared to the current standard of h.264, which means that 4K video download and streaming services are also appearing with Sony and Netflix leading the charge. Next year, 4K channels will start to become available via Cable and Satellite, with ESPN being the first expected to hit the scene. A bunch of new 4K professional cameras - basically 4K versions of what the porn makers have been using for the past several years to shoot most of the stuff - are being shown off this week and they will also become available next year. We already know that Brazzers is going 4K and that several "studios" like Digital Playground and Wicked Pictures have been shooting their films in 4K for a few years now, so it's only a matter of time and money before we get to see 4K porn for the first time. What does this mean for you guys? Well, it means you're gonna have to get new computers/laptops or at the very least new video cards and monitors to display 4K video as many of today's cards can't do it and only the high-end monitors can do 4K. Luckily, 4K monitors will become a hot product next year with sizes expected to start around 27-inches all the way up to 42, with UHDTVs serving as monitors at sizes above 42.
