http://www.woodstockstory.com/

A thread was started on it being the 40th anniversary of the moon landing but its also the 40th anniversary of the music festival Woodstock.Man it was a summer just full of big events. And neitheir was fake lol.:D

I also like that when you click the link my avatar is shown.:)

I was just a couple years too young to go to woodstock but have seen the movie several times and it was awesome show with some of the greatest artists of the late 60s in attendance.Hendrix,Jefferson airplane, the Who and so forth.

I was there. Seriously.

I was 3 and went with my hippy aunt and uncle who were taking care of me while my parents were off on some excavation out in the desert.

They weren't too thrilled when they got back and found out they'd taken me there.

So...too young to remember but I can honstly say I was there.

Yeah but to be honest the older I got the more I was into saying I saw Keith Moon and Joe Cocker belting out With a Little Help From my Friends (maybe the greatest cover ever).

Cool story.I bet you were not the only child there and that some were born there and some were conceived there.Beleive me when I say that living in Jersey not that far from the concert couple years older I would have been there ,if just so I could have said I was there. And I would have been old enough to not really remember it probably too with all the acid that was there lol.It wasn't just 3 yr olds who were there that don't really remember it.

For me then and now I would have said the 2 performances I would liked to have seen most were Jefferson Airplane and the Who,but waking up to Jimi and the star spangled banner was real awesome as well I'm sure.

Does anybody think the last Woodstock was hilarious compared to the original Woodstock?

I really know nothing about the later ones.IMO they really have nothing to do with the original cept maybe location and name.

Funny that the Doors didn't take part in Woodstock. I think they were embroiled in Morrison's legal trouble at the time. It would've been that much more interesting if they were there.
