i thought about this for a while and came to this conclusion: isn't this (on top of rape) also treason? if you weaken your own unit's combat strength or morale than that is treason, right?
Will, where in the blue fuck did you get that from? So you're saying that people who get discharged, transferred, etc, and that does in fact lower the unit's strength, are also traitors? So ever since I got out of the Army, I'm a traitor simply because I did my time and wanted to come home? In the Army, we're told if you have a problem, tell someone. Worst case senario is you're either transferred or the other person is. That is in no way treason. Get your facts straight.
Well, first off, those numbers don't like. When I was in the Army, we were told countless times, be careful what you say and who you say it to. I knew some women that were harassed, but not by me or any of my friends. In my company, I'd say the amount of men and women were equal, but no reports of harassment came out of my company or battalion as far as I remember. Even though I never went to Iraq, I knew many guys who did and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that after having rockets, grenades and bullets fly at you, and women remember are not allowed in the infantry, the guys are going to take their frustrations out on someone, and naturally they target women.
I'm in no way saying I agree with that, but it's the truth. Women are on the front lines in Iraq and when they get shot, they bleed just like men do. I believe women should be allowed in the military. They should be able to serve just like the men do. The sad part is though, with all the assholes who harass women in the military, why would anyone want to serve? There are sergeants in the Army that don't give a shit and can make your life a living hell if you say anything, and if you can get past them, the higher up's either don't believe you or don't press the matter.
But like I said, nothing like that happened when I was in, but there were reports all the time in the Army newspaper we read and when we had meetings, we were all told about some female soldier that got raped or things along that line. I don't agree with how the women are treated, but things like that happen all the time in the military.
And Namreg, don't worry about the clown that neg-repped you. I'm ex-Army and good for you for posting it.
