2nd Amenment

The Syrian rebels are getting support form defecting Syrian military units, the U.S., and other countries. The French Resistance was saved since the Nazis had to guard the French coast form Allied invasion. They couldn't use all of their men and massive military firepower against the French Resistance. Rebels will not last long against military firepower with no outside help. Chechnya is the best example of that, I can think of at this time.

I suppose that I'm the only one on this board that has the ability to form a premise. If a second Revolution were to happen in the US, military personel would defect by the thousands, often bringing their equipment with them. Factions would form, often depending on location. The American SW would become very reminiscent of tribal Afghanistan, only Spanish speaking. They would draw support from Mexico. Don't think for a second that like-minded Canadians wouldn't join the fray. Meanwhile, the revolutionary, swimming on a sea of the people (Mao Zedong), would already have their logistical support stemming from.....wait for it......the 2nd Amendment. Ta da!

If you look back at one of the threads, I posted that our original guns were a loan from the French. I know who helped us get our freedom....so what happened? I know not all of you bent over and took it, but with your attitude towards guns, I can bet you would...or end up shooting yourself by accident. It occurs to me that if there were a breakdown of law and order in the USA (which is what a revolution would be), then the people that would take charge are those most willing to use their guns and kill other American citizens. Who do you think these people are most likely to be?
Your friendly law abiding neighbour who goes to work in a suit and mows his lawn on a Sunday, or the Drugs gang leader who already has a stockpile of weapons and people willing to kill others for profit?
Your revolution would end up being a war zone in which the most likely people to come out on top will be either the military or the criminal gangs.
It is a well established fact that most people will not pull the trigger to kill another human being - soldiers have to be trained to do so, so either your psychopaths or your military will be the ones ruling the country after a revolution.

Well, unlike you I served in the military and I have the training and experience to now what I'm talking about. If America is invaded the 2nd Amendment want do you any good against experienced soldiers who've 100 times the firepower you have.

This will be my last response. I'm still in the Army Reserves, but I now work for a defense contractor. I went to college 3 years before I went to the Army. so I got many promotion points from my time in college. And I got deployed 4 times. I had two non full deployments; I was a replacement for those dployments.
