2021 new year, new changes

Here's a small change that would be nice: Allow Japanese characters to be used for Babe bios. I've submitted additions to bios with the Japanese characters for a tattoo (along with translation), but they've been rejected, likely because the character becomes all garbled up since the site doesn't currently accept them. I think it would be nice for users to see what a babe's tattoo means, especially if the babe section is going to be a comprehensive reference. It might be good to add support for other languages as well, I know some Sanskrit tattoo's I've love to know the meaning of.

1/ contests
2/ return of points system & freeones products ?

1) Please add a search filter by the last added actress to the menu of featured actresses, as you did on the old version of the site.
2) Please return the view of the list of actresses as in the old version where the name of the actress was added and my rating was from 1 to 5 stars, earlier it was convenient to use as if it was an Excel table, and a column filter also worked on top of this list. This is very useful and important feature, old users will be delighted with this 100% Do not abandon this idea.

Hey everyone, new here, well, using the site for a long time but just made an account, i hope everyone is doing well

I have some notions on changes that i think would be welcomed by the community

In the links section (fe Home/Babes/*name babe*/Links) Some community incentive - A filter option to only show photo links or video links, and with this an option to report a link as photo or video link, A double link report so he double link can be removed, Option to upload screenshot to a link for when it doesn't show related content or any content at all. Option to report or add tags to links (fe site/porn network)

Cheers

1st, contests....

I will try to get contests going again. However, they take a lot of time and we need to be able to involve the entire site not just the forum. So, soon (tm).

For the hundredth time, PLEASE give us an option like the old board had to always display threads sorted newest post to oldest post. It still maddens me that when I open a thread it shows stuff from years ago instead of what was posted today...

Unfortunately, this is not something that Xenforo decided to do and it maybe comes up 1x a year on their forum. We are aware that some people want this so once we get more important things done we'll circle back around. Until then, I suggest just trying to get used to scrolling down...

The photo's on the main [Opening page] look to be about 4" x 4"
I think that if they were a bit smaller Maybe 2.5" x 2.5" or 3" x 3"...

We're working on making the thumbnail images smaller to be able to serve more content. I'm hoping to make some progress on this in the near future.

1. users are still not able to add birthdate to profiles...fix that
2. Make them cookies remember that i want 96 results per page
3. Option to hide filters we don't use
4. Age filter needs a slider
5. and this

1. we're about to launch the new babe submit/babe wiki. This long time bug will be fixed once the new forms are made public (it's in testing right now).
2. we're talking about the best way to do this. In a nutshell, the more things we make "them cookies" remember, the slower things end up
3. also on the drawing board, maybe it'll be part of a premium account...
4. in our backlog
5. also in the backlog but not such an easy thing to do atm

Two questions:

1. Are login credits coming back?
2. When are purchased photo galleries that we used with our login credits coming back?

1. maybe, we haven't started defining what actions will generate credits on the new site
2. hopefully in the next couple of months

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally would like to see one naked Petra picture per month.

Nobody wants to see this.

Bring back the FreeOnes merchandise, please! I miss the shirts, caps, etcx... and pülease bring back the FO teddy bears

We haven't talked about the store yet and probably won't until towards the end of this year.

Make Likes and Dislikes anonymous.

Not possible atm and I haven't seen a plugin for it.

You've lost a lot of content since the change over...particularly with models from more than 25 years ago. You say it's because of a lack of market interest in vintage stuff online. I'm telling you it's there. Just look for it. Rebuild the new site like the old one was...so when I look up a classic model or actress, I don't have to see that the individual's page no longer exists...and face the fact that I have more content in my hard drives for this model than you guys have on your site.

If you can give a list of who we're missing, it's possible she was accidently deleted in the import process. And of course we're always taking suggestions on who we should add if there's enough (legal) content we can add to her section.

Here's a small change that would be nice: Allow Japanese characters to be used for Babe bios. I've submitted additions to bios with the Japanese characters for a tattoo (along with translation), but they've been rejected, likely because the character becomes all garbled up since the site doesn't currently accept them. I'll put it on the list but I'm not sure how practical this is.

1. you can already do this. https://www.freeones.com/babes?s=latest&o=desc&l=24&v=grid&f[professions]=actresses

2. Not sure if we're going to add the personal rating back, but it's still in our backlog.

We already have the feature to show if a link is photo or video, but because of how the old system was set up the link was either a video, otherwise assumed photo. New links being added will have the correct type, but at a future date the community will be invited to help with the older links.

We have a double link/content report planned.

Not sure what you mean about the screen shot....

We'll have tag, category and performer suggestion and report added hopefully in the next month or two as well.

Recommend feature
On the old freeones website there was a recommend feature. A freeones website visitor would type in the name of a babe he or she was looking for.

Then click the search button and a few seconds later.
They would be shown a list of links for that specific babe and at the top of the list. Of links would be an orange button with the word recommend.

in white lettering a person could click on that button. And they would see a list of other babes that where similar to the one that they searching for.

Please for goodness sake put this feature on the new freeones website.

For the hundredth time, PLEASE give us an option like the old board had to always display threads sorted newest post to oldest post. It still maddens me that when I open a thread it shows stuff from years ago instead of what was posted today. I'm not the only one who has asked for this. Other advantages include not needing special code to jump down to the first unseen post (which because of all the pictures in threads these days is often broken), and not needing a "jump to new" button. The latest is always on top and you can scroll down to the first unseen post if desired.

Okay guys, no excuses now. I did some searching on my own and found that XenForo has an option to do this. I looked though this thread:

https://xenforo.com/community/threads/newest-first.161100/ - other XenForo users with the same complaint I have, and it lead to this option to do what I want:

https://xenforo.com/community/resources/reverse-post-order.6173/

If this option really exists, PLEASE give us a way to access it.

I am curious how you enter threads. The ones that I look at that have new posts are bumped and obvious. I can either click on 3, which puts me at the last page, or I click on Today at 11:56 AM and it zips me right to the last post. There are shortcuts if you dont want to start at page 1.

I saw the plugin but it's not opt in per user. Admin opts in a forum and EVERYONE has to view it that way. So yes, I saw the thread, yes I saw the plugin but it has to be per user opt in.

...and you say that like it is a bad thing, make it universal, who would complain? It still mystifies me why the correct answer for clicking on a thread is to show me posts from ten years ago.

I don't do anything weird. Typically I look through my watched threads and yes, the forum attempts to put me at the newest post but often fails and drops me into nowhereland. I can click things to attempt to circumvent it but why should I have to do that and they are hit and miss too. That is all annoying and very avoidable but the biggest pain is when I want to post something. I click on a thread and it drops me into 2007 or whenever the thread opened, why is this the right answer, ever? Again, more clicks to workaround this are possible but really it is just a waste of my time and again, very avoidable. I know for a fact that due to this bad default behavior I've posted (recent) duplicates because it is just too big of a pain to go to the last page and look. So much easier to start there, scroll down a bit, and see a duplicate.

I'm still wondering why I don't have this problem. You're saying you click the shortcuts I mentioned above and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't? I have never had this happen. Why don't you click the page number or the last post link? It's not an extra step or anything, you got last page and latest post jumps. Not trying to argue, just trying to understand. Are you mostly viewing on mobile and its different there or?

Go to your watched thread list and click on a thread with new content - the following is behavior I see every day on my computer, I never use a mobile:

Open a watched thread with new content and it may drop you into the middle of nowhere. Yes, I can usually do extra clicking and scrolling to get to the new unseen content but why should I need to if it was just always at the top like the old forum (with the sort-by-newest option). I also have to report that "Jump to New" doesn't always work even if I sit and let the whole page load - sometimes it doesn't do anything. Embedded images and people on my ignore list (usually ones that embed lots of images) seem to trigger this annoying behavior. Sitting on my hands and letting all the embedded images load will clear sometimes up the issue (yes I have a fast internet connection, just no patience for wasting my time).

Don't get me wrong, the forum as it exists now is usable, just not optimal. The problem that I described above doesn't happen every time, just often enough to be annoying. I think the main problem is that your team are defending the need to do extra clicking to work around bad (my opinion) default behavior. I appreciate that the board attempts to take me to the newest unseen content in a watched thread by default but it just fails too often to be reliable. Telling me to click this or that will never replace the usability of what the old forum could do.

Beyond watched threads with new content where an attempt is made to show something from recent history, clicking any other thread link (e.g. click a random thread in fetish corner) and you'll end up at page one no matter how many years ago page one was created. Who wants this behavior? Who needs it and for what purpose? Take me to the newest content and if I want to go back in time then I'll click the "1" and go there. I'd love to see a survey of your users who think that opening a thread should take them to 2010 instead of 2021. This is a porn board and links age and die. How many links from 2010 still work correctly? I can see an argument for the default behavior making more sense in a discussion forum where maybe I want to start at the beginning but I don't buy it for at least how I use the FreeOnes board and I suspect so do most of your users.

FYI, out of 14 watched threads with new content this morning, 5 dropped me into nowhereland even after waiting for the page to load completely. The other 9 correctly took me to the first unseen post. All of the 5 were full of embedded images and people on my ignore list who post lots of embedded images.

Needs to be fixed... Or am I doing something wrong????
On the "Babes Page" Under "Display" you have choices to display [12,24 default,48,72,96] per page.
Then If you go in and change your "Display" say from 24 to 48 the system [Web site] does not retain your choice after you leave the "Babes" Page.
Example change your "Display # to say 12 the hit "Home" button then go back into your "Babes" Page and you'll find the it goes right back to the default [24] per page.

This is something we're talking about.

The problem is we have to turn off the cache for these types of features (so there's no cache on the other items that DO remember). Each instance that we do this will make things slower, and slower, and slower. It also adds more complexity because it's an exception which will start collection technical overhead.

So the answer is this is something we would like to offer since people really seem to like the other 3 site features that use it, but we have to decide the best way to implement it and if the "cost" is going to be worth it. It might end up being a member only function.

@Petra Don't know if you know this, but the keyword for supporting every kind of character in any not-thoroughly-obscure language ever is Unicode.

Now, actually implementing that is probably hell. Unicode needs font support to go along with it and there is not a single font in existence that would have every single glyph. So you'll need to have your users (who are absolutely stupid in terms of computer tech from what I've seen in my time on the forum) install the font that covers the Unicode subset of glyphs that they need in their language to display correctly. That might be a non-issue, since native non-English users will certainly have some fonts compatible with writing systems in their language already installed on the system, but it also.. might not be that simple.

Other than that, people who have complained that threads full of large hotlinked images take an aggravating amount of time (@DrakeM): I made a userscript some time ago already, because I got sick of that shit. I am now just debating on how exactly I should post these userscripts, since I occasionally make them and generally only end up using them myself for various reasons. The transient forum format here is a problem. Post thread about it, it's visible for a short while, it's gone. Well, not GONE gone, but you know what I mean. In the world of infinitely short attention span, the worst ADD case is the king and so on.

That's how it goes. If I make just one large thread with every userscript I've made for different purposes, that's going to be a worse spaghetti code and different version hell than most Perl programs. If I make a separate thread for each, they're practically going to disappear after a short time. Maybe I'll make a sleazyfork account and put those scripts and the site style edits and the like there. Then it would be just the matter of linking to that in my signature and voliá.
