The developers along the streetcar route had contributed $250k to OneNYC prior to that proposal. He says that is to better serve a growing community that lacks access to public transportation. Didn't NYC pave over the streetcar rails 100 years ago for a reason? $2.5B to complete in 8 years. Can't they just run busses through there now?
