Looking forward to this as it should be great tournament. Hopefully there will be a few shock results for the minnows along the way, and some great goals too :)

Won't be long before Panini release their new album for it now...perhaps in a month or two.

I don't think will be as bad as everyone thinks, even more so now that Walcott is out.

Hart
Walker - Cahill - Jagielka - Baines
Gerrard - Carrick - Barkley
Townsend - Rooney - Sturridge

I say go for the fucking throat right from the off and go with pace and attacking intent. That means Andros and the lad Barkley. I've seen plenty of Premier League defences shit themselves when he's had the ball at his feet, and playing for Everton, nobody will have a clue who he is or how to play him. To be honest, I've only put Gerrard in because I know Woy will, and because Wilshere's a prick, so I wouldn't pick him. The Ox maybe as an alternative, but you need SOME experience out there, I guess. I know most people still expect Cole to start at left back, but he can't get a game for Chelsea right now, and he wouldn't overlap and provide crosses from the left as well as Baines, which my front six would require from that flank. Unless Townsend switched sides allowing Walker to do the overlapping down the right. I am basing this on the assumption that Townsend wins his place in the Spurs team back from Aaron Lennon when he's fully fit.

I take it you've prepared yourself for Scotland not qualifying for Euro2016?

If we do qualify after all these years, then it'll be one hell of a piss up in France :hybrid: I think as the tournament has got bigger we've got more of a chance of qualifying now. But it will all come down to the draw though. Hopefully we'll get an easy one like the Swiss did for the World Cup.But as a Scot I'm expecting Strachan to get us there or at least in the playoffs anyway....but we'll see.

I've got a strange feeling that Wales might actually be in with a shout of qualifying if they get a decent draw, Bale stays fit and Ramsey continues his startling transformation into a world-beater. Admittedly, with zero half-decent defenders they'd probably have to beat even former Yugoslav minnows in a manner of "you might score two, but we'll score four" but hell, teams have won tournaments playing like that, never mind qualify for them.

and also Tsjech republic is not in it, they had a good team for a while.

group C is an interesting Group, i believe they are quite equal all of them... wonder who will go to the next round...

I expect Drogba and Honda to drag their respective teams through. Fuck knows how Greece's anti-football gets them anywhere in this day and age.

yeah dude agree with you, Japan has got a very descent team since a couple of years, not the minor country it was before. [NOBABE]Ivory Coast[/NOBABE] is always tough to play against. I'm also not a fan of the Greek footballers, does not really show the beauty of football and Colombia.... i don't know... they never really came very far any time in their history, so why should they now ?

Colombia and [NOBABE]Ivory Coast[/NOBABE] will probably progress from that group. England's chances Hahahaha. Spain and Germany also have very tough groups, me personally I think the world cup will be staying in Brazil.

Depends if Falcao gets fit in time, for me.

So far I only know of three people that talk up Argentina's chances - Gary Lineker on Twitter, Mark Chapman on 505, and me, in the pub and online. If Messi and Aguero both turn up in good shape and in the mood, they will be unstoppable.

I think it will be a South American team that wins it. Messi doesn't play as well for Argentina as he does for Barcelona (Of course that may change this year), but the only European team that I think will do well is Germany.

With the 2014 Winter Olympics about to end in Sochi, that also means the clock is ticking to the big Kickoff of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this Summer.
I hope that with all the negative press that Brazil has been on the receiving end with deadlines for competition of stadiums been missed among other problems ,
that it will be a World Cup champoionship that will shine through the history of football.
And when the 2014 World Cup Champions are crowned at the end of the World Cup, Brazil will still have the international spotlight upon it as within 2 years , the focus will be on Rio De Janeiro for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Talk about having huge sporting events collide within a short space of each other. So we will put the best foot forward.

I would say Germany, Brazil and Spain make good chances to win it... also keep an eye on Holland and Argentina.

I think you should be able to beat Costa Rica. But if you don't, you'll be as bad as us jocks :1orglaugh

actually, costa rica is tougher than given credit. arguably the best country coming out of the concacaf region (yes that includes usa and mexico)
