Scott the spread was Alabama - 10 1/2

Sorry to sound so harsh but this game was close until it started. Once again I am not a Bama fan as you all know but damn how good are they and how good is Texas A&M:dunno:

Interesting that Notre Dame and A&M both crushed Oklahoma, and ND did it in Norman.
ND had one other noteworthy win, the controversial one over Stanford.
But besides those two games they never looked like an upper echelon team.
I don't think this is a great Alabama team. Outstanding yes, great no. But they were way too fast and athletic for Notre Dame.

Well, that was a pile of shit. Where was Notre Dame tonight? The defense certainly didn't show up. They played like ass, and lost because they deserved it.

Fuck.

Anyway, I still think Notre Dame is going to be relevant for a decade. Suck a bag of dicks everyone who disagrees.

I think you are right.I have a question for you. What did Texas A&M do that no other team did not do?
They ran the spread. Saban himself has said that he has problems trying to defend against it.

From a talent standpoint, Notre Dame shouldn't even be ranked in the top 10. Right now, their greatest asset is their coach. He is one of the best coaches in the country. If he can bring in some real talent, and more importantly, get those idiots at the school to finally realize that they're actually harming the program by staying out of a full conference schedule, he could turn the tables and dominate like the SEC has been.

Relevant, certainly, but as I've said before, the athletic department needs to get their head out of their ass and make changes. You can't expect the coach to do everything.

Ugh. Playoffs start next year, correct?
Someone told me that it was the year after next. I don't know for sure.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I can't believe that all the experts were deceived by this ND team.. I knew they were pretenders, I was gonna say I can't understand how the fans / board member's were fooled by the Irish and actually thought they were serious contenders to be atleast competitive with Bama? Then I realized the experts were just as dumb / deceived. as much as the common fans were, and actually ranked ND #1 :dunno: and on another puzzling note, if ND was ranked #1 why were they the underdogs? sure Bama was the defending National Champions, but if a team is ranked #1 and there playing in the National Championship game they should be the favorites am I right? :suspicious:

I think Texas A&M, Oregon, Kansas state and Georgia would have been more competitive games for Bama, Georgia could've gotten a rematch, and Bama would been able have a rematch game against Texas A&M. :2 cents:

I just can't fathom how the experts nor the knowledgeable College Football fans couldn't see through this Irish team? I knew from Jump that there were just a Lucky good team that caught allot of breaks this year!! All I know is they shouldn't have been playing Bama in the National Championship game this year!! I knew Bama would roll them up and smoke them like a :joint: so why didn't everybody else especially the so called experts see that the irish were only PRETENDERS!!! :fishing:

They certainly should not have been in the NC. Big name schools get in over the better teams. Happens every year. Boise and TCU go undefeated in 2009 and both go to the Fiesta Bowl while 1 loss Oklahoma and Florida both go the NC?

Oregon should have been in. I'm sad now.

Two simple reasons:

1) The media and the Catholic population worship Notre Dame.
2) Most of the population hates the SEC.

After 6 (now 7) consecutive crowns, every fan of a non-SEC school is sick and tired of the SEC holding onto that crown.

I just checked to be sure and there will be 1 more year of the BCS then the 4 team playoff will be in effect for the 2014-2015 season.

I think you are right.I have a question for you. What did Texas A&M do that no other team did not do?

well bama fans dont like to cry...but the fact of it all...texas a&m had bama right where they wanted them..they was coming off a very physical game with lsu banged up and lucky to get out of death valley with a win. a week is just not long enough to get over it and get your game back together. and get ready for a qb like johnny. with time to prepare i dont think stanford could beat oregon again or do i think a&m could bama. as i said pages back had we played off the top 8 teams i dont even see ND there? let alone playing for a NC . when the smoke cleared bama and oregon would have played for the glass ball. and let me touch on our bowl challenge ...i never thought i would live to see the day KENT ST would be the reason i lost or won anything lol what a shootout

i have said alllll year bodie they may never be as good as last year...but the team they played didnt reflect how good they were. it reflected how bad ND was and how overrated . i bet what i own (which is not much im po ) lol but i would bet win or lose bama oregon would have been a much better game.

Notre Dame beat nobody this year and ONLY because of their TV pull they were put in against the best team money can buy. Way to go NCAA.....

Would you please just put all the SEC teams on probation where they belong or just give up your antiquated system and let the teams pay for players......

1 huge yawn.........

That's why I fuckin despise NCAA football. Yeah, I watch my Gophs (we DO have the best stadium in the entire country and have a rich history with 6 national championships) but outside of them - and they have sucked infinitely for years because all our Blue Chips head outstate - I will watch the Nat. Championship and that's it. The corruption of all the recent powerhouses is so fucking rampant it wreaks of corruption nationwide. It also doesn't help that so many "great" college footballers flop instantly in to the NFL.

I digress...continue on...

The NCAA deserves a lot of blame for a lot of things, but this game was not one of them. The news media deserves most of the blame on this and the BCS deserves some of it as well.

I only dislike Notre Dame slightly more than I dislike Alabama so either outcome was going to be bad for me. I didn't think Notre Dame had much of a chance of winning either.

On another note NCAA football has a lot of ways to go to fix it's problems. The four game playoff coming in a couple years is only a very small step in the right direction. So much needs to be done to fix everything to make it fair and ethical for everybody that it's still might take decades more to get there. When so much money is involved, and so many people don't want to give either that or their power up nothing is going to be quickly fixed.

The only way things are gonna get fixed is for the AD's at the major colleges to get together and start discussing the real issues and how to make changes. Truthfully, the small schools don't want things to change. If/when the major schools realize this, they will understand they have the power to fire the NCAA and start over.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Just an idea I don't know how you guys feel about it or if it could work, but I think they should format a playoff system like the NFL and implement the college basketball playoff system into it as well. instead of conference against conference, you take the best records with strength of schedule and format a playoff system that would create an Eastern Conference against the Western Conference. this way there is NO way all the SEC teams can match up against Northern teams and run them off the field anymore.

This way the best of the EAST will face the Best of the WEST and hopefully the 2 best teams in the country will face off for the National Championship game. Of course the big prominent schools would have to have played a very competitive schedule and won the majority of its games. this way you take out polls, and school popularity, hence national powers who get a bowl game just on their name and reputation alone.

The $$$ for each game will still be allocated for the schools based on there playoff games, I think this might generate even MORE $$$$ for the Schools that excel in the College Football season with their schedule, based on strength and wins. and each playoff game is gonna sort of be like a bowl game!! I think that would generate the same as these poorly formatted bowl games with lousy match ups that frequently take place. of course there would have to be allot of framework and all the schools cooperation for this too happen. otherwise I think anything that would go North against South would still favor the SEC based there year round climate advantage, the guys from the south, even if its not an organized college football game / practice have more time to be active then the Northern guys who are basically trapped indoors half the year due to COLD weather. :2 cents:

I realize people will pick my idea's apart and totally gut all of my idea's and or suggestions, but its got to start somewhere and somehow, my suggestions would alleviate any advantage any team or athletes would have from any other part of the country. :2 cents:

My idea has been to keep the BCS polls, and use the bowls in a playoff.

At the end of the year, take the top 8 teams, seed them and play:

1 vs 8
2 vs 7
3 vs 6
4 vs 5

If you can't finish in the top 8, you have no reason to be in the playoffs. In the past, teams like TCU, Boise State, etc. could have made it and there would have been no bitching.

so why didn't everybody else especially the so called experts see that the irish were only PRETENDERS!!! :fishing:

Marlo I think just about all of us on this thread thought they were over-rated.
And the biggest experts of all, the line makers, obviously thought they were over-rated.
But a lot of casual fans and pollsters will automatically rank an undefeated big name team on top without bothering to carefully examine their resume.
