Conner makes a good point about Georgia's offense possibly being more of a problem for the Domer's than Alabama's. I just think either team is too fast and too athletic for Notre Dame, although Georgia has a nasty habit of not showing up at all sometimes.

That is just so true.

Lowly Buffalo scored 23 on them
Tennessee scored 44 on them
South Carolina destroyed them
They barely beat Kentucky

I'd kind'a like to see GA win & then beat ND. Imagine that... 5 different teams from the same conference gettig the crown over a 7 year stretch.

Wow what a fuckin game!!! I thought the Dogs might fuck around and win it @ the end of the game... Saban made a tactical mistake before the half and didn't take that TO so they could get that extra 4 points before the half to make it a 7 point lead instead of just a 3 pt. lead.. That play and the blocked fieldgoal made that game allot closer than it should have been IMO, but that's why the games are played, granted it wasn't a blowout win but it did the job, I also think that was the proverbial National Championship game, I don't think the Irish stand a chance against the Tide, I am smelling a Crimson Tide blowout, I hope the Tide mop the field with the Irish!!! :nanner:

The two teams I didn't want in the NC. Go Irish. Fuck me.

Also, the SEC chest thumping is still sad. Go conference!!

Is anyone watching the Nebraska/Wisconsin game? 12th ranked Nebraska is losing to Wisconsin 63-17 half way through the third quarter. Holy crap.

After watching tonight's game, I think the Irish can hang with this team. It'll be closer than most people think.

You can forget about Notre Dame mounting any kind of a running game against Bama's defense. The Tide's only weakness is the secondary, and Saban has 5 weeks to fix that. This one could be uglier than last year's title game.

The only reason the Dogs even had a chance of beating Bama is # 1 they were playing @ home and # 2 all the SEC teams that are competitive are cuz they pocess the same kind of speed in all phases of the game. I think the SEC is the BEST conference in College Football, I don't know if its the weather they play in all year or if its home grown talent, staying @ home to play in or around the state they were born, but for some reason the SEC seems to be the most dominant conference year in and year out.. IDK if teams like U of M or OSU get the same quality players / talent from from northern states / schools where they have a strong hold on recruiting kids from within the surrounding northern states like the kids playing down south. :dunno: but it always seems like whenever a Big Ten team plays a team from the South they usually lose or get outplayed because of the speed factor... IDK why that is??

I think you are right on the button my friend, SEC teams play each other the most and apt to play better against a team they are used to playing or are familiar with.. I think ND is gonna get over whelmed by the SPEED and QUICKNESS of an SEC team they don't normally see!! I really think BAMA is gonna spank that Irish ASS!!! :horse:

Yeah, I don't get the conference chest thumping either. I am a die-hard FSU fan, and I never root for any other team in my conference if they are playing for the NC and mine is not. I'll watch the game, but I'm not going to actively root for them.
I don't want my biggest rivals to win any game at all, strength of schedule be damned.
I am a team fan first, and might root for a conference team if they are playing one my team's rivals.

It's sad, you see Kentucky and Vanderbilt fans running around chanting SEC SEC SEC...

i knew georgia was going to bring it...the whole 4qtr was a chess match...but in the 4th bamas offensive line was the difference. credit to georgia....it took everything bama had in the tank! i have no fingernails this morning and a hole in the top of my ceiling when the last 3 seconds ticked off. to be honest...bama was a little stronger than i thought. (julio and mark ingram was on the sideline i thought we was going to somehow slip them in). :stir: i may be wrong...but i think the 2 best teams in the nation played last night. and before i go SEC SEC SEC SEC!!!

The advance spread yesterday was Alabama -10 1/2

i just watched bodie..but had i bet i would have took the 7.5 was the line where i play. i knew when it started wasnt much over a touchdown difference.

one more thing before i go...i want to comment on a couple of bad calls. most bama fans dont cry about spilled milk but i seen to calls or should i say one bad call and one no call..that was BS! 1 was the tip ball...be damn if i seen a tip. when i football is tipped in the air its going to change in direction one way or the other..that one never did. and the bullshit head shot to murry after the play was complete bullshit! in the first degree. coach bear would have sit his ass down a game or two. that is not alabama football! bama fans dont wont a win like that. had that put murry out i would have turned the tv off. and bet your ass i bet nick chewed his ass all the way back to T town

but in the 4th bamas offensive line was the difference.

Most of the game actually. How many rushing yards did they have? Around 400? You'd think they'd have won pretty comfortably with that kind of production.

No smoknn the -10 1/2 I mentioned is the line on Alabama/Notre Dame.

This is something that I have been saying for years. Northern coaches don't seem to understand that speed is every bit, if not more important than size. Example: Let's say you have an offensive line that averages 350. That sounds awesome, but if all those fat-ass lineman are as slow as snails, the defensive lineman don't have to run over them when they can more easily just run around them. In years past, this was a problem I noticed a lot with Ohio State, but now that they have someone like Urban Meyer, I believe he will bring them back to prominence.

As for your question about why southern athletes seem to be better than northern athletes, IMO, it's because of the enviroment. We have a much warmer climate and because of that, our people are far more active. We have grown accustomed to the heat. Over the years, I've seen stories about Chicago having a lot of people die from heat exposure during the summer months. You never see that down here in Birmingham/Atlanta/Miami/etc. As such, northerners are not as active in the summer months. In the winter, it's much colder and northerners stay inside, so that too limits their activity. Because of all this, southern athletes tend to be slightly smaller with better speed.

I don't know if the ball was tipped or not, but I have to ask, have the rules been changed? The announcers kept making a big deal about that play being reviewed, but as far as I know, that play was not reviewable. Aren't reviews limited to turnovers/touchdowns/ball placement?

:1orglaugh

I've had it for a week :D

My online book (5dimes) is really good at posting futures. In this case 'Bama had to beat Georgia or the future bet was cancelled. As of today that line has dropped to - 9 1/2

Oregon vs Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl. Should be a good game. Ducks favored by 7 1/2.
