bodie54, I hate to tell you this but what your saying I have heard all before back in 1992 when the SEC started having a Championship Game. As for myself I thiink they should all have a championship game or none should. But I remeber how everyone was screaming that the SEC would never win another NC because of adding that game.
That's interesting. I don't recall a major outcry, but being as you're an SEC guy I'll take your word for it.
Most fans seems to love the idea of conference championships. Not me. I was very happy the Pac 10 resisted the trend for so many years.
But then I also don't like the fact we expanded to include programs like Colorado and Utah. If Texas and/or Oklahoma had been part of the deal I might have felt differently.
So just remember that things always change and teams rise and fall over time. It could turn out to be a good thing and not the penalty that you make it out to be.
Well from my perspective I still don't see how it can be a good thing. A neutral thing, yes. But it never really benefits the team with the best regular season conference record. It can only hurt them.
