bodie54, I hate to tell you this but what your saying I have heard all before back in 1992 when the SEC started having a Championship Game. As for myself I thiink they should all have a championship game or none should. But I remeber how everyone was screaming that the SEC would never win another NC because of adding that game.

That's interesting. I don't recall a major outcry, but being as you're an SEC guy I'll take your word for it.
Most fans seems to love the idea of conference championships. Not me. I was very happy the Pac 10 resisted the trend for so many years.
But then I also don't like the fact we expanded to include programs like Colorado and Utah. If Texas and/or Oklahoma had been part of the deal I might have felt differently.

So just remember that things always change and teams rise and fall over time. It could turn out to be a good thing and not the penalty that you make it out to be.

Well from my perspective I still don't see how it can be a good thing. A neutral thing, yes. But it never really benefits the team with the best regular season conference record. It can only hurt them.

The thing I really HATE about the Pac 12 adding a Conference Championship Game........

In order to get through the season undefeated my Ducks will probably have to beat USC twice, once at home and once on the road.

That's a really tall order, and seems unfair. If they have the best record in the conference after 12 regular season games why penalize them by making them play another game? Especially if it's against a team they already beat? Winning the game won't help them any. But losing it will probably take them out of BCS title contention.

There's nothing new about this scenario. It's been in play in the SEC since 1992 I believe.

I think Arizona State will pull a mild upset at Cal
Kinda like Akron +3 1/2 over Miami Ohio
Jinxypie's Navy team might get back to back wins this week at home vs San Jose State.

nice upset of Stanford by Washington Last night.
Bodie54 the pac-12 wanted both Texas and Oklahoma but Texas wanted it's own network and a bigger slice of the revenue and when Texas said no Oklahoma decided to stay with Texas.
yeah there was a big huue and cry about the SEC championship game and National champions but that worked out eventually

Wow, the Thundering Herd look awful today. Consecutive interceptions returned for TDs and very poor defense are going to make for a long game. It's already 42-14 and it isn't even half time.

i didnt see the game but its a shame to see a team score that many points...then turn right around and give up just as many??i dont get it? did the defense practice at all? if i had offense like say oregon , west v. damn if i wouldnt get me someone to run the defense ?? i think oregon is finally getting it.........

Yeah maybe. They've got a lot of talent, and they should be in my top 10, but after watching them today I dunno, to be life or death to hold off Tennessee at home, barely beating Missouri before. Team never seems to live up to their hype. But if they beat Florida that division looks weak, so it's on to the SEC title game (where they'll lose, as usual ).

I'm surprised Georgia is an underdog in that game. So surprised it makes me feel squirrely about betting them. But I think I'll make a minimal bet.
