Didn't see a thread created for this. I searched and didn't find one. But we all know how much the search function here blows ass.

I had a juicy bit of information that I wanted to share in regards to Purdue's program this year. A story should break on head coach Matt Painter within the next couple of weeks if it turns out to be true. Word is that Painter had an affair with a 19 year-old college student at Purdue. She's now pregnant, and Painter and his wife have filed for divorce in a county that's approximately thirty minutes away. Also, construction on the house they were building in West Lafayette has been completely stopped until the divorce can be settled. In light of what's taking place at PSU, I think the administration is likely to come down pretty heavily on him if he's involved in a sex scandal. Painter has a morality clause in his contract and this could lead to suspension or possible dismissal from the university.

I have this information from some pretty reliable sources. Whether or not this is made public, only time will tell.

EDIT: For fuck's sake, how did I manage to put a 4 in the thread title? Would a moderator mind removing that so I feel like less of a giant douche.

Did he...painter with cum? Looool.

I hope that isn't true, for your sake. But you could always root for Indiana!

 He evidently deposited some of his baby batter...

My girlfriend is an IU alum. Everyone on my mom's side of the family is an IU fan (6 IU grads on that side).

I fucking hate IU. I hate that they're relevant again. I hate that they can recruit the fuck out of this state. I hate the fact that they swept Purdue last year. I hate everything about that school. Losing to IU is worse than getting punched in the dick. I have to hear shit from so many goddamn people it's ridiculous. I turned my phone off last year it was so bad.

So yeah, rooting for the Hoosiers is not an option. Ever.

Cool, so I'm not watching any college basketball this year. Purdue is horseshit. I just sat through a horseshit Purdue football season. I'm not sitting through horseshit basketball season too.

I need to be like Sam and jump on a bandwagon. Any good teams have any room left?

You could always hop on the San Diego State bandwagon, we've got plenty of room. Preseason AP/USA Today #20 (now #25), took a tough loss to then-#9 Syracuse in the Midway (Carrier) game, to open the season. We always play some tough in-conference games against teams like #18 UNLV, New Mexico and Colorado State (All 3 in the NCAAs last year) as well as a decent OOC schedule including teams like #6 Syracuse, #11/13 UCLA, USC, and UCSB.

The team is looking pretty good coming off back-to-back regular season MWC Championships, and MWC Tournament champions in 2 of the last 3, as well as three straight NCAA tournament appearances. We've won 20+ games in 7 straight seasons and have won at least 25 games in the last 4 consecutive seasons, with a 34-3 record, and a loss in the Sweet Sixteen to eventual National Champion UCONN in 2011. We have a handful of really good players with guys like Sr. G Chase Tapley, who may be one of the better shooters in the country, Sr. F/C DeShawn Stephens 6'9" 225 of raw talent. A nice compliment of transfers like Dwayne Polee Jr. (St. John's), JJ O'Brien (Utah) and easily the best recruiting class in the history of the program with freshmen like 5-star recruit 6'8" Winston Shepard, and 3-star recruit 6'9" Skylar Spencer. All led by one (should have fucking been) preseason All-American in junior G/F Jamaal Franklin, 6'5" 205, who will average better than 20PPG/10RPG this year for sure. Mountain West Conference player of the year as a sophomore, can jump out of the gym with a mid-range and 3-point shot that's getting better by the day.

Next year SDSU will be in the Big West, which doesn't do much for our in conference RPI or SOS, except for say UCSB and LBSU (I know Big 10 fans aren't accustomed to caring about such trifling things), but that just means we'll have to schedule an even tougher OOC lineup to compensate. Point being, the Aztecs are kind of inaccessible on television in the MWC, but with the move to the Big West and their accompanying ESPN contract, the Aztecs are sure to be the class of the conference and the centerpiece of BW national exposure for years to come.

Here, have some Jamaal Franklin (Fr./So. season) highlights, love the reverse put-back @ the 7:30 mark (apolgies for the soundtrack, just hit the mute button):

And also, our batshit crazy student section, most dressed like Mormon missionaries, doing their pregame chant before a home game against BYU:

Anybody else watching the B1G/ACC challenge?

Tonight is probably the one time during the year that I root for IU. It's about as much fun as licking sandpaper...

Normally I don't have much to post in here. Watching Purdue just makes me angry.

I'm not in full basketball mode yet. Since there is a lot of football left I won't start watching basketball religiously until conference season starts. The good non-con match ups are few and far between.

IU looked really good in the first half against UNC. I know that both teams like to run, but UNC is playing right into IU's game. The Hoosiers have had at least five or six fast break dunks off of steals or rebounds. You're not going to beat IU doing that. And Zeller has been a man beast in the paint. Fuck, he's good.

And basketball is ubiquitous in Indiana. We're always ready for it. My grandma doesn't miss an IU game. And god forbid if you try and call her while they're playing...

As a gopher fan the Big Ten/ACC challenge is the only time I cheer for Wisconsin and Iowa. Oh and BTW Go Gophers!! Nice road win vs. FSU. Indiana is by far the best team in the conference though.

Was saddened, but not shocked to see this. Majerus had been battling heart problems for quite some time, so his eventual death from heart failure always seemed to be a matter of time. Its a shame that he went when he did, he had the Billikens trending upward, winning 26 games last year and making it to the 3rd round of the NCAAs just last season.

My memories of Majerus will always be him courtside, in that white sweater he always used to wear, yelling at his Ute teams as they were kicking my Aztec's asses up and down the floor. And of course, those Keith Van Horn, Michael Doleac and Andre Miller teams from the mid-late 90's. He was a fantastic coach, and without knowing him personally, it always seemed to me that he was a genuinely nice person with a passion for coaching and teaching. Big loss for the college basketball world, and no doubt an even bigger loss felt by his family and current/former players. He will surely be missed.
