Poor Mike. I know this will probably be met with some contention, but I have to admit that Iron Mike was and has continued to be a role model for me. Not necessarily the ****** and ear biting etc. just the fact that he came from nothing, a poor *** from the Catskills who worked his ass off, focused his rage and anger and ultimately rose to become one of the most imposing, prolific, and iconic sports figures in history before he was even 21 years old. Thank God for Cus D'Amato. Who knows what hell Mike would have unleashed on the planet if not for the raw potential Cus saw in a young misguided man. On a side note, I think Mike's downfall really began when Cus died. I think Mike peaked after Cus' passing by way of pure anger at losing his friend and mentor and when all that rage and anger wore off he started to nosedive. That and the medication, really. I digress, though. Wow, 20 years since Buster dropped Mike... can't believe it.
