This is just crazy and sad! And all those officials don't want to see their fail! They only say it needs to be clarified what and why it happened!

Formal investigations are under way. State Attorneys have filed charges for negligent homicide.
Financial compensation is also called for but nobody is willing to take responsibility. The organizers blame local authorities and vice versa, when in fact both acted recklessly in the planning of the event. It probably will result in a several year-long court battle between the two parties.

Yesterday it became clear why the mayor of the city of Duisburg will not resign:
As a Trade School teacher, and as a mayor, he would loose all rights to reseave any pension if he stepped down by himself.
So he needs to be voted out or similar procedure.
And the whole legal situation of who has responsibilies and who knew that things were not going to go well and who has or has not gotten informations on the whole issues are just trickling down slowly.
May take a month or two, at least, to get to the base of it.
