I use malware bytes myself, you might want to give it a try.

Pimp and host seems to be working fine with the insert image function. I´m starting to think that this is on your end. When did you last run a malware check on your computer?

I´ve gone through the steps and I really cant reproduce it, can you check speedtest.net and see what your connection is like?

Just tested this with Firefox 23.0.1 on a different account and I´m not able to reproduce it.

Could you try a different browser to see if that helps? That way we know if its browser specific or not. Also, what version of firefox are you using?
