Running up the stair would help you with your calves and quadriceps as well as helping with stamina, jogging will do the same, but is not as effective, but that depends if you do cross-country, which is probably the best excercise
I Agree, what the hell are they playing at? They bought Carrick for £18m, which was definately not worth the money, they're probably confused with the exchange rate and muddled up dollars with pounds
