I live in Texas near Houston. Culturally, I don't have much in common with your average Texan. I'm not an extreme right-winger, I don't hunt or fish, don't like NASCAR racing and I don't own a gun. However, the people are friendly and helpful and the weather is excellent for much of the year (great winters but summers are too hot and humid). Cost of living is cheap, affordable housing, fantastic food, bustling economy. Plus I can put on my best "howdy y'all!" act and pull out a very-genuine sounding Texas drawl with the best of 'em. I reckon I'll stay here. LOL

Yeah, I didn't think so but thought I'd give it a shot. I have spent many a day working on "Lon-Giland", especially Suffolk County. If it wasn't for the shitty winter weather and the traffic, it would be an awesome place to live. I have made a lot of friends there. Good people for the most part. New Yorkers are proud and strong....I admire that. Take care!
