He was saying that it was a very narrow path to heaven. He also required that you had to accept him as the *** of God and acknowledge the that we are sinners and that we must repent.
He was also saying that a rich man would have a more difficult path because their focus is on worldly things and not spiritual things.
That "hippie" had a lot of compassion for the poor but he still had rules that they had to follow and that you wouldn't like.
