Farts are generally about the same volume of gas expelled each time. When you're in a shower, you're in an enclosed space, so you have a higher concentration of fart in the air then you do when you fart in, say, a kitchen (provided your kitchen is larger than a shower).

Actually, I believe it's all three reasons combined. I, sadly have thought about this MANY times also...OH GOD< my brain works like Sam's!!!!

Anyway, I believe the combo of heat, rising air, and a confined space, all working together together, bring a concentrated version, quickly to your nose, causing them to smell much worse.

Too much sulfur in your diet? A few possibilities:

- a shower is small, so the gas is more concentrated, thus more smelly
- high turbidity of the air in the shower also circulates the gas faster and more efficiently
- high humidity and high temperature conditions enhance the senses of smell and taste in humans which means the farts don’t smell worse, we can just smell them better than usual
