It's a wonder how these kinds of incidents don't occur with regularity.
I wonder what type(s) of antidepressant meds this guy was on, you know, that's the side of the story they never tell us about, the pattern of shoot 'em up guys and their prozac Rx. of EVERYBODY when I am in public, and as a matter of fact I do sit in the back (top row) of the movie theater when I go to the show, and believe you me, if I did have my *** with me, I only have it for one reason and thats to protect myself, and if I were sitting in that theater I would have died trying to **** that GUNMAN or I would have been a hero, not cuz I am trying to be a hero, just because, I wanna live, and if I see some A$$ Stain get up and start shooting, I might hit the floor @ 1st, but I would try to disarm the guy. thats just me. Exactly! One more point that if someone was armed there there is no guarantee of a clear shot. That's why fuckhead Laughner is still alive. The one guy couldn't get a clear shot. yes indeed if every law abiding citizen attending that showing would have been carrying and concealed I predict the outcome of this tragedy would have been very different, banning all firearms will not stop the criminals from obtaining ******* firearms and committing violent crimes, just look at Chicago and New York for evidence of this because the fact is that hardcore criminals will always get ******* handguns regardless of a total firearm ban, the answer is more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens, not less

Why do people assume that nobody else in the theater was armed? It's Colorado, I'm pretty damn sure that guy didn't have the only weapon in the building. I'm in favor of legal firearm ownership, but having a *** in that situation honestly would not have done much defensive good for anybody.

This is the stupidest thing anyone can say. You have a dark theater packed with people and your saying that if a few people had guns on them everything would have been different? yeah you're right because instead of 13 dead we'd have 50 dead and instead of 59 wounded we'd be talking about at least 100. It sounds good in theory to say that if a few people were packing everything would be different but in reality that's not what would happen. You already have a lunatic shooting a semi-automatic rifle and to add another group of shooters is just asking for trouble. The shooter was wearing body armor so you would have had a hard time trying to take him out with your handgun.

Yeah, shootings happens in countries with very strict ***-control laws. The thing is what extremely rarely happens in these countries happens quite often in the US...
Last time I heard about a mass shooting in the US was about 3 monthes agos (Oikos shooting).
Tell me about one ***-control country in wich 2 mass shootings can happen within les than 6 monthes (don't tell me about Merah : 2 shootings but twice the same guy. Counts for one) and I may agree guns aren't the problem.
Don't forget they were tear gassed.
