Official Calls For Riverside, 12 Other Counties To Secede From California

Is the state of California about to go “South”?

Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone apparently thinks so, after proposing that the county lead a campaign for as many as 13 Southern California counties to secede from the state.

Stone said in a statement late Thursday that Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa and Mono counties should form the new state of South California.

The creation of the new state would allow officials to focus on securing borders, balancing budgets, improving schools and creating a vibrant economy, he said.

“Our taxes are too high, our schools don’t educate our ******** well enough, unions and other special interests have more clout in the Legislature than the general public,” Stone said in his statement.

He unveiled his proposal on the day Gov. Jerry Brown signed budget legislation that will divert about $14 million in 2011-12 vehicle license fee revenue from four new Riverside County cities.

A. that **** wont happen. theres a fair amount of commerce and trade that happens up here in NorCal that SoCal depends on. California has to be a unified state otherwise these "north" and "south" states will fail in due time.

B. if this were to happen, it would end up in war. maybe not on a grand scale, but it wont be good i can tell you that much.

A central government in this country based is a disaster. Look at the state of the country! There's all the proof you need that self governing states was the right idea then and it still is. The one quote that sums up how much a federal government has failed in this country is this and it's by you guessed it, George Carlin:

A central government in this country based is a disaster. Look at the state of the country! There's all the proof you need that self governing states was the right idea then and it still is. The one quote that sums up how much a federal government has failed in this country is this and it's by you guessed it, George Carlin:

Sorry, but I'm not aware of any evidence that the central government is the root cause for our current issues. If there were just a bunch of little nation-states, more than likely we would have been conquered by a foreign power LONG ago.

Throughout history, city-states (or small nation-states) have not fared so well.
