Read the Cranston Amendment and also look at the FACT that we pay Israel interest on money that we've agreed to loan them, but they haven't gotten yet. By the Cranston Amendment, we MUST loan Israel at least enough money to make the interest payments on loans they've already received from us. If you want to know why they've never missed a payment, easy answer: we loan them the damn payments too!!! I asked my banker if he could do a deal like that for me and he said he'd like to, but we'd both wind up in jail!
Several years ago, we also paid the Israeli squatters in certain West Bank areas several hundred thousand AMERICAN TAXPAYER DOLLARS each (for their little cardboard shacks) to get their asses off that land. They took my (our) money, and then as soon as they cashed my (our) checks, they promptly went back!
I don't care if you want to compare them to the NRA, Big Oil or the tobacco lobby, there is no lobby in this nation that holds more sway over Congress than the Israeli/Zionist lobby. Not one!
And before someone tries to use the old tried & true Hitler/Holocaust/anti-Semitism shell-game technique to confuse the issue, my feelings about Zionism and the state of Israel have nothing to do with ANY of those issues. Hell, some of the most hardcore Zionists are Evangelical Christians and some of the most outspoken anti-Zionists are Jews. So that's not it. I'm just tired of foreign nations having a sense of entitlement on my dime! And it never ceases to amaze me how so many who claim to be "fiscal conservatives" don't mind that Israel has a virtual blank check from the U.S. Treasury. As far as I'm concerned, those Americans who seem to favor Israel's interests over those of the United States should buy a one-way ticket to Jerusalem and formally declare their support of the other team... since they obviously don't care about the home team.

Day 3: United States resumes full aid. Hamas, Hezbollah, and Egypt strike Israel.
Day 4: First shipments of military aid are flown in
Day 5: Iran sends nuclear tipped missile into Israel procured from NK. Tel Aviv nearly destroyed. Civilian deaths and casualties run into the hundreds of thousands within 2 days.
Day 6: Israel responds to Iranian strike.
Day 7: Israel responds to Hezbollah terrorist attacks with full *****. Civilian deaths/casualties in Lebanon run over ten thousand.
Need I say more?

It was well known that Barack Hussein Obama had and has a pro arab foreign policy at the difference of Bush. I am glad that the Israelis don't give an inch of their soil because if they did, after that the Palestinians would want more and more land. The Fatah and the Hamas are both terrorists organizations which are unreliable and untrustworthy. The jewish American voters have a weight when it comes to voting but it seems that Obama doesn't get the message and he tries to appeal too much for the arab world. I am not going to miss him if he doesn't get elected.

Of course Obama is a Muslim, put yourself in the potus' position here, if he said something so patently false about himself, he would have corrected himself lickity split, but NO, he made a statement of truth and went on his merry way until George stepped in to remind him which barrack obama he was supposed to be at that particular given time. Besides, if obama was truly and genuinely a christian, there would be a fatwa against him for turning his back on islam.
If the president's ****** was a muslim, then, by definition he's a muslim... they take this **** quite seriously.
note:..It's interesting to see the variation of obama supporters here . . . most are just downright apologists, at least one looks like he's financially invested in things anti israeli, the rest are anti israel because they have to opine contrary to anything and everything the conservatives believe.... did I miss anybody? Oh yea, one is an argument hound by nature and he's probably very lonely because he'll come up with just about anything in order to keep you at bay. It's a total waste of time arguing over politics because, quite frankly, I've never witnessed a situation in political debate where one party has ever compelled another to think differently about something. Of course, in politics, there is often no single right or wrong answer as people choose their politics based on their financial and/or social status... oh, well, enough of that.
Egypt is still recovering from ousting Mubarak, Syria is too busy ****ing it's own citizens, and the Saudi royal ****** isn't stupid enough to get involved in a conflict with a nuclear neighbor. Syria's secular Alawite regime will fall and be replaced by some sort of Sunni majority gov't based on Islamic law.
Lebanon is owned by Hezbollah an Iranian proxy.
The next few years will be very telling in this region and it doesn't look very good for anybody.
