Yeah, cheating on an ailing spouse is pretty douche-worthy. But there was another guy who was running even higher than Edwards (McCain) who did the same thing and another one considering running (Gingrich) who did the same thing.
It is pretty bad that Edwards was doing it while he was running but him concealing it while doing so doesn't make those who supported him stupid. They didn't know.
But if that's the kind of thing or douche-baggery that would bother someone you'd think the stupid people would be those who knew someone had done it then voted for the guy anyway.:dunno:
I'm not a huge supporter of gossip, but even the Enquirer averages somethng like 1 of 3 or 1 of 4 stories to be true. I had heard this informaiton about Edwards right when he started his bid. I know people like to smear people in high positions for personal benefit. However, some people never make the tabloids about things like "affairs." In my opinion it is because there aren't any. I sign of being truly up-and-up. I guess I wonder why people's radar doesn't work better??
I agree about McCain and the others as well. But then again I didn't vote living overseas. There is nothing more prohibitive to my voting than when I read on CNN that there are "said" number of absintee ballots yet to come in, but they are not enough to change the outcome of the poll. Great, I am a worthless vote. I haven't bothered since then... It is all screwy...

The only criticism I countered was that being presumably charged against Edwards' supporters as being 'stupid'. If they didn't know for a fact what was being alleged or the veracity of the claims, how could they be 'stupid' in not considering it while they supported him?

Well, if you're talking about ignorance of Edwards' cheating on his sick wife..then that type of ignorance by his supporters wasn't a sin in my book. They didn't know and probably most couldn't have known. By definition, that is ignorant. But again, if you're so moved by the notion of a candidate cheating on his sick wife during the last campaign...there was another guy running pretty high where it was a known fact.
Edwards is being criticized as a douchebag here primarily because he was cheating on his then sick wife. His supporters were then criticized for being stupid for presumably supporting him in spite of this.
I brought up Gingrich and McCain because the subject was raised of supporters of douchebags who cheat on their sick wives being stupid.
That shouldn't have been too hard to follow at all.

Except for the fact that a poster saying Edwards was running pretty high in the last election and therefore his supporters were stupid because of this.
It would occur to me then at least one person didn't know there was another guy running pretty high who did the same thing in the last election and one other who did the same thing who may run in the next election.

Of course, any suggestion that this is a cynical move by Edwards and his cronies to pre-pollute the jury pool with a suicide threat (convict me and you **** me) is outrageous and would never be considered by someone of Edwards' high moral caliber.
