Well Nikki, I finally saw "The Fighter" and once again you were spot on!!! Fucking great film!!!! Like you said...casting was excellent! Story was awesome too! Redemption, hard work & determination to see a dream though, successfully fighting your own demons, dysfunctional extended families...this movie has it all...plus a happy ending to boot! It did remind me why I was glad when I said "no" when someone had tried to recruit me to be an amateur boxer some years back, and I'm still glad I never got into hard drugs or anything like that! But, like I said, fucking awesome film! I especially thought it was cool to have the clip at the end with the real life brothers featured in the film!

I think I genuinely like movies that are based on true stories better than any other genre because, even though they do use creative license, they are still far more believable than most movies being made today, plus you have a real life story as a reference. With a lot of movies, I find myself saying "that wouldn't happen" or "that doesn't make any sense" or "who the hell would do that?" because I tend to be analytical (who would have guessed...right??? Ha ha ha!). A good script/plot/story/acting can overcome that though...but one has to admit that some serious garbage comes out of Hollywood these days! "The Fighter" however, is an exceptional film! What can I say Nikki...you have great taste in films! Never once have I checked how much time was left in a film you recommended...and for me, that is really saying something!

Now, my lunch break is about up...another busy day...so I wish everyone a great day! Like they say...ya can't keep a good Jon down! Many have tried...few, if any have succeeded! Ha ha ha!

Congrats again Nikki on your way OVERDUE recognition!!! I know you don't live for such things, & you should already know you are an amazing person...but, it's always nice to hear it and being appreciated sometimes too! A cash prize would be nice too...but what are ya gonna do? At least it's something, and something is better than nothing at all...and you definitely deserved it and much more! Anyone who would be mean to and/or fuck with you deserve to...oh, I'm keeping it light today...so that'll have to wait til later!

Finally, posting that N.I.B. clip did something to me...it flipped on a long dormant switch in my brain...it reminded me how much I loved & still love Sabbath!!! Ha ha ha! Can't stop listening to it and Ozzy now! Thank God Sabbath still fucking rocks!!! Just imagine if it were something like...oh I don't know...Gaga!!!! God, as much as I've been listening to Sabbath the past few days...if it were Gaga...I'd be begging to die right now! Ha ha ha!

I told you it was a good movie! I was very impressed with it. I was even more impressed with it after watching the commentary afterwards. Yes i am one of the dorks that actually watches and listens to the comentray with the directors,writers, producers, actors etc.
As you know I LOVE true stories or films that are based on true stories so this ws an all around perfect film in my opinion.

I'm with Nikki on this one...Keith, as much as I feel for the fact that it's cold in ChiTown...it was 88 degrees here yesterday (several days in a row in the 80s), and following some storms, it's only in the 60s today. It's supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow...followed by 80s again for awhile. So, I'm happy for the break...and I'm in no hurry for the heat to return to stay! Ha ha ha!

It's the same here, hasn't been a cloud in the sky for a few days now and temps hovering in the high 80's..or around 30C....beautiful autumn/fall weather to enjoy.
