A politician (and several others) gets shot by a crazy guy and people still find the time to argue left and right politics over the whole thing.
This country just needs to finish tying the bow and greasing up the slide and it can commence the downhill trip into hell.
Yeah. While the rambling back and forth in all directions in this thread is pretty lame, it's obvious this would become about politics because it just is.
The naive and/or intellectually dishonest people want to reduce this to simply an isolated case. It is and it isn't. It is because he apparently acted alone but at the same time it isn't because someone just like him (history and behavior) can walk right into a local shop that sells firearms and do the exact, same thing again.
This is nearly 4 years after some psyched-out *** with a clear history of metal defect did nearly the SAME thing (just worse) in Blacksburg, VA.
There are many more of these but nothing is changing. To say it's impossible to keep firearms out of the hands of mentally disturbed people is true. That doesn't mean we can't take reasonable steps to keep them from simply walking into some local place and buying them perfectly legal. Talk about crazy....that is crazy.
There are those who sit around on tv and radio railing about common sense this and common sense that all day and night. But can't seem to mount up the intellect to discuss making firearm less accessible to those with clear evidence in their background which should preclude them from just walking in some place and walking out with a legally obtained firearm.
When a congressmember is nearly executed and a judge is....of course it's going to be about politics especially when others use rhetoric which likens political opposition to threats of ********.
