Because tonight's game was such a lousy game--all I will say is let's get that PLUS 1 against Boise just so we get another chance at seeing a decent game to cap the season:dunno:

I don't want a plus one. It's a half-assed solution the problem and if it's created it will make the crappy system last that much more. I would much rater see it crash and burn and done right when it's redone.

Well I said it before and I will say it again till the powers at be come up with a playoff system know one will really know who is the best and I gree to I don't think anyone in the nation at this point can keep up with Boise and the funny thing about it is we all know what Boise is going to do the question is can you stop it i mean they have been doing the same thing since 2003 TCU forgeo to watch the Oklahoma-Boise game and as good as Alabama defense is and as much as they like to change things up on D Boise is just the same on offense it would be a real chess game and two teams like that would not come down to the players it would come down to the coaches TCU got out coached I really don't know if they got out played.By the way Jim Leavitt has been fired as South Flordia head coach

I'm watching Saban at the post-game presser...I've got $20 in my pocket that says Saban leaves Bama tomorrow for the Buffalo Bills :rofl2:

TR, you are going to be surprised! Saban, love him or hate him, has shown he's a damn good college coach, and he's got everything in place at UA. He's happy and isn't going anywhere.

Looking forward to next season already, lots of good teams with a lot of talent coming back. :glugglug:

In year's past...ESPN is usually pretty quick to come out with preseason Top 5 and Preseason Heisman Hopeful list. I don't think there is a worthy person to even speak the word Heisman in the same breath, at this point, so I'm forgetting that. But here goes...

2010-2011--Preseason Top 5

1. Bama (to be the man, you gotta beat the man even if it's a tarnished man:thefinger)
2. Boise State
3. Ohio State
4. Oregon
5. The U

I can't put SC, Texas, Okie or Florida in the Top 5 due to major question marks....

I can't disagree with this, t-rock!

I actually think that Ohio State will eventually emerge as the top contender to challenge Alabama next season with Miami a dark-horse challenger if things fall right for them. Boise will indeed get fucked once again!!!

I agree. If I am forced to commit---I got Bama v Ohio State in the Championship. Boise goes undefeated again and plays....:dunno: for nothing essentially.

Oregon repeats as Pac 10 champs. Even with a watered down simple schedule, SC looks about 2nd or 3rd in the Pac next year :weeping:

Wow, you guys really think Ohio State is going to be that strong next year? I didn't jump on the "hate Ohio State and Tressel" bandwagon when they had their losses this year, because Tressel has kept them a top ten team pretty consistently. I don't think they can make both their offense and defense good enough to beat everyone else in the nation.

My preseason top 5 isn't formed yet, but it will likely look quite similar to TitsR's. The NFL draft is going to drop a bomb on a few programs, right?

But not like Alabama. Holy shit, they're going to be loaded.

My top 5 next year:

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Boise State
4. Oregon
5. Florida

*16. Oklahoma - If the O-line can figure out how to block, they might be a top 5 team. They also have to replace two stud corners.

Well I certainly hope you're right rwill, but just looking at the SEC West, it's going to be tough sledding. Arkansas will be improved, Ole Miss is tough, LSU has a lot of talent (but a functional retard for a HC), AU will be improved, and MSU is improving as well. That's a tough division to win 3 years in a row!

They had a young defense that will get better. Pryor will be a junior and hopefully make the great leap forward. They have been pretty consistent the last few years and finally won a good game to rally around.

Dont see them National Champions yet, but they will contend.

I'll put my Trojans behind you--we lose Everson Griffin on DL, Damien Williams--WR, Taylor Mays, 2 solid OL propects, Stafon Johnson, Mitch Mustain (who I feel very sorry for actually), Aaron Corp just announced he's transferring so we're completely stuck with "the golden boy" aka Pete's Love child, Matt Barkley at QB for the next 2 years:rolleyes:...

I really think this entire year is a mediocre year for high school recruiting. I'm not that up on it but I watched 5 minutes of some high school "all star" game last weekend and nobody I watched looked like an actual all star. :dunno:

I think SC's recruiting is below par this year (a lot of 3 star recruits thus far, if stars mean anything)....

And now with rumors of Pete Carroll to the Seahawks, that can't help recruiting. The only promising news is Joe McKnight is off to the NFL :wave2: Our RB position has just been strengthened by that! :thefinger

Who here thinks maybe Colt McCoy could've gone back in that game last night? I've seen a lot of footage (thanks to ESPN) of him clapping his hands, moving his shoulders, etc.

Was he protecting himself for the draft?

Word here in Houston is that McCoy was begging Mack Brown to let him back in the game in the 3rd quarter but Mack said no under the advice of team doctors. Gut-check move on Mack's behalf (although I'm sure McCoy would have loved for him to relent) since he wasn't willing to risk further injury to his QB just to win the game. Remember, Sam Bradford's shoulder re-injury happened right in front of Mack Brown's eyes only a couple of months ago and he was lost for the rest of his college career. I bet Bob Stoops wishes he had a chance to rethink the decision to start Bradford in that Texas game.

OU may lose up to 9 guys to the NFL.

Also, our recuiting is good, not great. Texas is getting all the players this year. We seem to be settling with 3 star prospects. Though, Sam Bradford and Trent Williams were 3 star prospects. I hear we're going to land the top junior college O-line prospect, which is good news.

I think it may be another year before USC and Oklahoma are back to being great teams. Especially, with Pete Carrol possibly going back to the NFL.

Kirk Herbstreit said Oklahoma should be preseason #3.

I don't know about that. Mack Brown said he was the one the kept Colt McCoy from going back into the game. I think Colt's father also had a say in the decision.

Don't worry, Diva. I hear that Ted Tollner is prepared to come back as his replacement so you guys shouldn't miss a beat.

:1orglaugh You got it partly right, Jag. Tollner will be returning, but as an assistant to returning head coach Paul Hackett. Mike Garrett has always liked the fact both his name and Hackett's end with two "T"s. Within 5 years Garrett hopes to turn USC into THE dominant football school in division 1AA :nanner:

Actually the name I'm hearing is Mike Reilly, which makes a lot of sense.

Oh, I see how it is..I turn my back for one second and the ex-Trojan nightmare hire jokes start...ah...

SADLY>>>I THINK PETE IS GONE THIS TIME!!!!

I don't think this is bullshit. Seattle isn't going to dump their coach after 1 year without a plan and they aren't going to take no or an answer. $40 mil/5 yr contract in a state with no income tax  USC can't match that.

I really don't like the coaching candidates out there either. I REALLY don't want Mike Riley. Nothing but a safe, boring hire for USC (plus he really can't recruit well).

Jeff Fisher?
Jack Del Rio?
Norm Chow? :thefinger

^^Really? You think Pete "fluffy hair" is going to leave his position of prestige for the NFL?

Does ND have a chance of beating USC next year? :D
