2024 Potential Candidates for the Presidency of the US

Interesting Politico piece on the Dems around the country and how the attention covid brought to them may favor one of them ahead. Bill Richardson, super smart guy that would know, nods to a couple of Dem dahdemdems that can take another run at it in 4 years.

I think it's going to be a name that's not on anyone's radar right now. Absolutely a female. In spite of the fact that Cuomo is probably tapdancing that it's his turn.

You know who the President is going to be. Has a woman as his Vice President.

On the GOP ticket:

Maybe it will be John Kasich (again) and Paul Ryan as his VP choice. Forget Mike Pence. He's not going to run.

How about Kamala? Joe will likely be a transitional president to help stabilize the political landscape. One term and passes it off to the next generation? I know, wishful thinking.

Republicans will be soul searching for a couple years. No one will come to the fore until after the 2022 cycle.

I'm already seeing a groundswell of support for AOC as she'll be old enough to stand in 2024 but I don't think she should stand until 2028. I think she needs to grow her profile in America with the help of Bernie Sanders and try and get some education out there about exactly what socialism is, and as the average American thinks it involves posters of Fidel Castro on every street corner, that's a lot of work.

Yeah, AOC can wait, she's got plenty of life left in her. Even 28 would still be early in her career. I would have liked to see Buttigieg or Warren on this ticket, I think either would be eligible again in 2024, especially after people have had 4 more years to get used to Pete. Of course, the current democratic party would never have the balls to back either one, but we can hope.
As much as I dislike agreeing with the OP, there is a pretty good chance it'll be someone nobody is thinking of right now.

It is way too early. There will be postmortems on both sides. Republicans will need to see if they embrace Trump or if they want to return to the compassionate conservatism George Bush ran on in 2000.

The Democrats will have to ponder why it took a pandemic of epic proportion to just narrowly defeat Trump. No matter how we feel about the popular vote versus the electoral college, losing large swatches of the country is not a sustainable model.

Are they the party of Biden (left-leaning centrists) or Sanders/Warren (the progressives)?

One thing needs to happen though: the candidates need to be younger. Biden is older than all of the other living presidents (excepting Jimmy Carter).

AOC (D-NY14) v Lauren Boebert (R-CO3):

I could be wrong but I think I read or hear somewhere that Joe told he won't run for a second term. He alos told he's gonna take republicans in his cabinet so YES, it's gonna be a transitionnal mandate, Joe's gonna try to re-unite a very polarized country.
So, if Joe's not running in 2024, my guess is that it would be in the best interest of Democrats not to primary Kamala Harris. Sanders will be too old, AOC too young to not experienced enough...

Republicans will be soul searching for a couple years. No one will come to the fore until after the 2022 cycle.
The question is "Is the Trumpism gonna last once Trump is not president. I don't think Trump is gonna try to run again, my guess is he's gonna buy OANN and make it Trump-TV.

Too polarizing. Unless the thought of it gives all the real men(white and otherwise) fatal hear attacks, no.
She has three years to change that perception.

The cause was present before Trump so it's not going anywhere. Trump just gave the Tea Party a new name. Buying OANN is likely.

The same lindsey graham who spent the last couple of months begging for campaign donations on tv has half a million to throw down that drain? FFS lindsey, just finger his ass and jerk him off on your own face already.
