Isn't diesel about 1/3 or more fuel-efficient thna normal gasoline, though? Doesn't it sort of all balance out? :dunno:

Yes and no. If you have a car or a pick-up truck...you'll do good, but come oil change time your gonna pay with all of the extra maintanence that needs to be done. But when you're talking about a tractor trailer, you MIGHT get 6mph...my tractor gets about 4 and a half...then figure it out...I carry two 100 gal. tanks and frequently put 165 gal. in at a time. The worst part is, diesel fuel is easier to refine then gas...it's less then kerosene and more then fuel oil.

We Americans may have thought that our gas prices went up too much, but comparing relative to Europeans, it's probably half of what they pay by the gallon. Then again, we rely on automobiles for more traveling everyday...so this puts things in a pickle :dunno:
Yep, It's still about 5.87 US$ per gallon in Germany. (1.25 EUR per liter, to be precise)

Damn, now that is a bummer:(
We get used to that constant climbing of gas prices in Germany. At "Katrina time" it was even at 6.85 US$ per gallon...

1.98 here in south Texas. Damm my SS eats up gas like lemonaide on a hot summer.

1.98??? That can't possibly be right. I can't remember the last time I saw gas under two bucks.

Something really needs to be done about this. I think it's time for Bush to have that Saudi guy over to his ranch so they can hold hands and look at flowers like they did last time the prices spiked like this.:thefinger

I haven't had to buy gas since early March. Thank God for a short commute into town, my great Honda, and for working from home. Even when I drive way across town into other suburbs, it still only costs me about $2 in gas back and forth. lol :nanner:

In my country it still below $3....
so the petrol is still cheap although we have some increment in last february :(
