Would you erase a specific memory if you could?

It may be possible.

I'm not sure if I would. I haven't really experienced anything traumatic enough to need a drug like this, but I can certainly see the need for it. Rape, war, car accidents, etc.

So what say you?

Here's a link to an article about the drug and if you're interested in how our memory works, it's a good read.

I personally wouldn't. As painful as some memories can be they contribute to who you to a certain degree and as such removing the memory of such an experience is in effect removing a part of yourself. Then again, I can only speak for myself and as I have never been the victim of, or witnessed anything truly traumatic first hand: rape, child abuse, war, etc I can empathise with those who have and find the memory of them too debilitating to live a "normal" life, whatever that may be.

If you watched Spiderman 3, you would be singing a different tune.

If I had any memories that were bad enough I'd just repress them anyways.

It looks like I done a bit of erasing in my past, as I am told at several points.

I don't think that is such a good thing...

I would erase my viewing of the comedic genius known as Due Date from my mind, so that it would be just as funny the second time I watched it.

You know...there would be another...

I honestly don't even remember the reasoning for it anymore. A crime of passion? Mistaken identity? A long lost brother pissing me off? This, I do not know.
But, there is that one image, which I will never forget. His bulging eyes. His tongue protruding from his mouth. The drying sweat on his face. The blue tint taking over his skin. The confused, scared look in his eyes, as he watched his own life fading - watching it in the mirror so perfectly placed before him, was it put there by a purpose, or by accident? The gurgles as he fought for his last breaths. The feeling of his neck in my hands, my ever gripping hands. I watched his eyes as they went from full of life, to fight, to confusion, to submission, and into an empty glaze. Oh yes, I watched that moment and I have replayed it in my mind forever and forever. Yes, to erase. To erase.

To erase every other moment in my life, so I could keep reliving that one...it was freaking awesome!

I want to erase the memory of Keanu Reeves from...well every movie he´s ever made. If they could replace the memory of him with a talking sock puppet, or something it would be great.
