Windows media player and WMVs?

I use Windows media player to watch vids but for some reason I can only watch mpg files and not wmv files. Can anybody tell me why? Or if I can somehow fix it so it will play both?

Make Windows Media Player your default player for .wmv files.

Open the Windows Media Player

Click on Tools-Options

You will see a tab that says File Types, and place a check mark in the boxes of the file types you want Windows Media Player to open and then click Apply.
