Windows 7 features...

I haven't used Windows for a long time now. My brother ( he's a real techhead) installed something called Debian Linux on my computer a long time ago and it's all I use now :)

The snipping tool looks cool but I have been using a mouse for so long that I would have a problem getting used to a touch screen ISP I think. It's ok for phones and shit but computers....I don't know....not for me I don't think (of course, mighty Microsoft will FORCE me to do it so I might as well surrender now).

Sorry, Tunsty, don't recognize the song.

I'll stick with Vista. Unlike everyone in the world I have never had a problem with it.

i think that windows 7 is vista, only what it should have been when it was first released. windows 7 is, at least i believe it is, going to be more stable with better integration (though it will take a couple years for all the add-on software to get to the same place [like MS office, adobe CS, etc.]).

i'll absolutely get it when a full, non-beta and tested version is released. i don't care much about touch-screen technology yet, but i have a feeling i will someday.

I'm sure there will be something that sets people off of 7, but it won't be nowhere as near a catastrophe as Vista apparently was.

no kidding.

personally, i've never had a lick of trouble with vista. my (very many) programmes interfaced with it fine, and it has been very stable.

in all honesty, and i'm sure this will draw the hate of mac disciples, my current mac (newest operating system, 10 GB ram, 4 monitor configuration, terrabites of memory, newest versions of software only, should be so slick it gives me a boner) is the least stable computer i have ever owned. i don't think i'll get another one if windows 7 is as good as they are promising.

I have vista. Dunno if I'll switch to 7. I think I will, but not now. Maybe next year.

Btw I love the US commercial of Windows 7.

That little Asian girl is soooo cute!!! "All over my daddy's computer"

Makes me want to marry a beautiful Asian woman and have a little Baby Girl with her even more. :o

I just got a vista computer a couple of months ago and I'm pretty happy with vista. I'll be getting the free windows 7 upgrade, but don't know how much of a hurry I'll be in to use it.

I've read the same thing. And I'm going to wait until the full tested version comes out, too. Vista, while not perfect, does what I need it to do fine enough for me to wait.

I've been intentionally delaying any laptop purchase (using XP Pro atm) until the arrival of W7 (I don't want Vista). I might run it on a virtual disk first and then see. Otherwise, I'll have to do some hard graft and decide on a Linux version of some kind. Sorry MS.

"Fun & useful". Indeed.

xp pro service back 3 is much better than vista in terms of reliability and durability. Concerning 7 wait two years then after it has been a proven and tried os, you will perhaps install it.

"Two years"??? Multiply that several fold by Service Pack downloads LOL. ;)

Overall its no major leap forward, one or two nice features. If you have Win Vista theres not really any real need to invest in buying this. If you have Win Xp there maybe more of a case to buy this but I wouldnt recommend it as a must have.

If you plan on buying a new PC then the case is more compelling as you will be forced to make the choice of opting for Win 7 or Win Vista I think.
