Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton has been jailed for 45 days after
being found guilty of violating her probation for a drink-driving
conviction. A Los Angeles judge ruled she must start her sentence
on 5 June and has no prospect of an early release. Tell me something
I don’t know already. OK!
I was having a chin wag with Mrs Columbo as i do... discussing unsolved
cases... and after one of many long pauses... she is getting on a bit...
she brought up the topic of Miss Hilton's prison sentence. Where did that
come from? We don't normally discuss real crimes.
Anyways, on a more serious note, it got me thinking with British prisons almost full and over 2 million in American correction facilities what impact will 45 day have on the simple one!? And is it time to dismantle the criminal justice system and replace it with something that works!?
