Why So Much Slapping?

For some time now many scenes involve the male talent slapping the girls while they are having sex. Twenty years ago you NEVER saw that in a porn scene. Now they slap the porn girls ass, legs, tits, and faces. You see it a lot in Woodman, Rocco Siffreddi, and Legal Porno scenes but also see it in American porn scenes too. I don't get the reason or need for slapping the girl until her skin turns cherry red.

Do the girls enjoy being slapped?
If the girls slapped the males like that they would wig out I bet?
Do any members here slap their wife/girlfriend when they are making love to them?

Some guys feel the need to humiliate women while having sex with them... some sort of primal power play of expressed dominance, I suppose.
Concurrent with this behavior, there are women who indeed feel the need to be totally dominated and/or humiliated by their male partners during intercourse.
As long as both engaging parties are consenting, I personally have no problem with it. I'd just rather not see it.
As far as porn goes, because I'm one who generally cherishes women, any act that I perceive as demeaning would immediately be a turnoff to me.
Grant it, I have seen scenes where the "slapping" is soft, playful, and short-lived, which doesn't bother me at all.
But it's that extreme, abusive or abusive-looking material (face slapping, face spitting, choking, etc.) that I have a problem with.

Sure there was. It was in 70's era porn (especially the movies that came out of the New York scene), 80's era porn, the 90's, etc. But in the 80's, the Meese Commission and feminist groups like N.O.W. started rattling the cages of porn companies. So you saw a lot less rough sex in male/female scenes. After threats from the Bush Administration, the Cambria List was passed around in the early 2000's. Then things started opening up again in the mid 2000's. Now you have a host of fetish sites and producers... some (porn) mainstream, some more obscure. And while I'd agree that extreme behavior (mock castrations in femdom scenes, mock rapes in femdom and maledom scenes, forced male bi, slapping, spitting, blood letting, water sports, mock incest, etc.) is more common on fetish sites and movies, I'm not sure that in the average porn movie that it's any more common now than it was before. I mean, it's not as if actors and actresses are forced to do things that they don't want to do in these scenes. And they produce this stuff because there's a demand and people buy/rent that sort of content.

Not getting into what I agree or disagree with. Just pointing out that demand fuels supply and production.

Hardly. Most/many of the major porn actresses do femdom work now and they do a lot more than just face slap the males in those scenes. It's anything but a one-way street.

Neither am I.

Examples: Deep Throat, Her Name Was Lisa, Prey of a Call Girl, Jailhouse Girls, etc. All of these movies were made in the 70's and 80's. Deep Throat, Her Name Was Lisa and Jailhouse Girls were major/"mainstream" productions with some big name starlets of the time. In addition to her role in Her Name Was Lisa, Vanessa del Rio was also in an 80's porn flick where she got sodomized by a movie producer (don't remember the name of that one). Rape and/or forced sex/rough sex scenes were not that unusual in 70's and early 80's porn flicks. A lot of these scenes would be politically incorrect now, and so if you find some of these movies, the "offending" scenes have been removed. I have the original, but when I saw a more recent version of Jailhouse Girls, some forced sex scenes with Ginger Lynn and Kristara Barrington weren't there.

I understand what you're saying. My only point is, it's not really a brand new phenomenon. But our society has become more extreme (and accepting), and so porn has become more extreme. But there's also couples porn and women friendly (non femdom) porn these days too.

It's not that there's a "need" for it. There's simply a demand for it and the producers fill that demand. The people who make porn are not social justice warriors or great humanitarians. They're just doing what they do to turn a buck.
