Why do pornstars have so many IDs or not using their real names? Sometimes you may wonder if they work for the CIA though we see the photos and most use one particular name just to get more pictures or gallery of her.

I never understood that either, there was one girl in LA while we lived out there that changed her porn name every time she changed her hair color...it was very wierd because she changed hair colors every month or so

Some change their names due to legal reasons - I know that when the girl called Stryc-9 (who had appeared as simply "Cherry" in some early pictorials - that being her stage name when she was a stripper) left the company she was working for, they kept the name. They even released a 'best of' video of her scenes, but with new linking footage of a different (waaaaaaaayyy different) girl who now used the name Stryc-9. The original Stryc-9 became Cherry Mirage.

Once in a while somebody might have to change their name because they don't own the rights to the name they previously used and their former employer is unwilling to let it go or let them continue using it after they leave. I do agree that it can get annoying after a while. Also one of the reason people use a fake name might be to make it easier to search for on the Internet. I always thought somebody that came up with a common name that wasn't easy to search through the internet for just that person was doing themselves a disservice, although that isn't as bad as it used to be with sites like freeones where you have the searching power of a lot of people in one place.

I know Hustler was searching for a contract girl a while back, and one of the girls I knew in the industry was thinking about it, but it turns out that Hustler would build her name up to epic proportions, and then at the end of the 2 year deal she would own no rights to her name....and in fact Hustler would have it trademarked. Needless to say when she heard that part she ran away, and fast...she is a huge star to this day and never signed any contracts...she is one of the almost A list stars now too haha
