Why do pornstars choose the profession?

I was just curious about the psychology behind the industry that we all love and watch and bond over on here. So here's what I always wondered what if there weren't girls that chose the profession?? Why is there always girls choosing to be a porn starlet? I also would love to delve into the psychology behind the industry, does anyone think it's harmful on their mental health? I know we all want privacy on porn websites but I just love the aspect of the psychology of being a pornstar. It really does fascinate me and while I love they choose the profession that they chose to do for us the consumer, I still just really wonder on the reason they are in this industry. Do you and or anybody believe it's true about bad home live's they had when they were younger and there is obviously proof that not all pornstars end up on drugs, run down, haggard etc. Case in point Lisa Ann. That woman was hot in her early 40's playing the role of 'Nailin' Palin' from how many elections ago? There are some of these examples and I just wonder why some this industry negatively impacts, but then there's Lisa Ann who uses the NASCAR driver analogy to being a pornstar and coming out really successful on the other end.

Especially in this day and age with Only Fans. I was watching a YT video with Joker / Better Bachelor, who went on a rant for dudes who support the website. He referenced an article where Corinna Kopf made $67M (!) in only three years, on OF.

I've seen other YT videos commenting on / blasting dudes on Twitch, who support Amouranth. She also set up an OF page, and I believe she's made $48M to $60M on the site.
