They're rich people. But as long as the market supports it, they're not overpaid at all. They're also very talented in a profession that brings joy to millions of people.

Are some of them jerks? Sure. Just as some plumbers and some janitors are jerks. That's not a reason to insult people who watch the show. I mgiht watch; I might not. Based on the current quality of TV shows, I probably will though.

I dont undersand why people will sit & watch rich, overpaid people receive an award? Havent these ppl already received enough admiration & praise from there families & friends for making these movies? Its bad enough that they even have this on tv & that people watch it, but some ppl even sleep in tents at the actual event for days, so they can catch a glimpse of there favorite actor........this is pathetic..It seems like they have an award for everything now: Country music awards, Peoples choice awards, MTV music awards, The Grammys, The Oscars, The Emmys.

While I do like the seond part of your paragraph, so sorry, but I still think they're grossly over-paid. At least the majority of them. If they take care of they're money, there is no reason for some of them, such as Jack Nicholson and Bradd Pitt and the like getting well over the eight million dollar mark, as well as some of the back end gross percentage of they're infamous movies, such as Batman and the like. I don't wanna have a huge off-topic discussion. just own my :2 cents:. Guess to each they're own.

But I am still gonna attend the Oscar party tomarrow.

Weirdly enough, I don't often agree over the last few years, and yet I still watch. And I was curious years ago just what Paul Phisphine was doing with the AWN Awards show, and show I watched it on the STARZ or Showtime channels a few years back, two years in a row. And must say I agree with Howard Stern and also adult fiml star Rebecca Lord: It is beyond stupid. All these people out in Vegas where it's been held for the last several years, trying not to laugh too much as they accept they're awards for "best ana" and "best all-girl scene" and most hysterical as all fuck award "best non-sex scene role" and the like just makes no sense to me. Even if I was in the adult film industry and was up for two or more awards, I would be too embarrassed as fuck to show up. Like many I just don't get it.

That is it. Celebrities thrive on public applauding, cheering, and praising. It is how they survive. That is it.

Why else do celebrities go to other countries to bitch and piss on the country they came from, let alone, the country that made them rich! They go to other countries to demean the country they were born in, the country that provided opportunity, the country that provides them the freedom, the paycheck, the speech to speak what they say!

If celebrities love Iran, Cuba, Iraq, Venezuela, England, France, any other country so much, why do they come back to America to make their multi-million dollar films/paycheck!?

Fuck celebrities! Nothing but conceited, narcissistic, egotistical cunts!

Country music awards, Peoples choice awards, MTV music awards, The Grammys, The Oscars, The Emmys.

I've never seen any of those shows.

I was glad to hear that Mad Men did well at The Emmys. But the fact that it wins awards doesn't have any affect on how much I enjoy it. It seems like some of the movies and TV shows that win awards I don't like anyway. I rushed out to rent Unforgiven when it won an Oscar. Turns out, Unforgiven was one of my least favorite Clint Eastwood movies. IMO, High Plains Drifter, Outlaw Josey Wales and even Pale Rider were better movies.

Those shows just don't mean anything to me, so I don't watch them.
