Too few states with too much voting power. Most of the states were for Romney.

Ignorant voters who like things handed to them. Let others work for you.
No it wasn't. No....it wasn't. 332 (which is what it will be when they call Florida) to 206, with the decision coming before 11:30 EST is NOT a close election by any stretch of the imagination. And Obama won the popular by approx 2.5 million (I dunno if they're counting Fla. in that one yet) makes it even more of a rout. I said elsewhere, and I'll say it here, the time that the election was called makes it a landslide for Obama. Romney was poleaxed. Deal with the rejection.
To answer the OP, Romney lost because people don't trust him. And they shouldn't. The tax return thing killed him. The constant refutation of his "facts" was an albatross around his neck. And the fact that you can only be President if you want to be President and not because you don't want the other guy to be was a deal killer. The man could hardly get his own Party to endorse him. This is all forgotten now, and they'll find their own lame reasons. But Mitt Romney was the Republican equivalent of Mike Dukakis.
You are an idiot. 2.5 million vote margin out of 120 million cast is close. I hope someone checks your card count at the blackjack table for you Ace . There have been 4 landslide elections in my lifetime and last night was not one of them.

What part of 332 to 206 do you need an abacus for? What part of winning before midnight do you need spelled out? I'll allow that my inerpretation of "landslide" can be dismissed, but you saying this was a close election is moronic. Just because you're right-wing doesn't mean you have to be a petulant little crybaby like all your pundits and talking heads. Your boy never had a chance, he got blown out of the water, the President was given a clear mandate. Man up and deal with it.
I haven't complained here or elsewhere about the election results and I am dealing with it just fine. Oh it was close and still leaves a 50/50 electorate. Mandate? lol. Presidents that receive a mandate don't have to deal with the loyal opposition in congress as a majority or have to extend an offer to the opponent that they defeated to meet with them to unite the country.
Yes, I understand that graciousness and magnanimity became extinct in your Party the moment Reagan left office. I do honestly understand that the President being polite to the foe that he just punted is something that is completely lost on a 21st century Republican. Do you honestly believe that Romney is going to have any further input on....well, anything? Not a chance. He's back to filling out deposit slips in Cayman Island banks.
It was a nice gesture on Obama's part, but a completely wasted one.
Please keep posting your pearls of wisdom. GWB after Reagan made many concessions to the opposing party to try and unite the country.

The GOP is too old and too white. There was a demographic ticking time bomb and it finally exploded on them last night. All I have to say is good luck in 2016 because it's not going to get any better for you
"Too white" It will not get any better for people like you.
People like you are pushing this country towards a war. Good job, I can't wait for it to start! :ak47:
Battling a wheezing economy and a deeply motivated opposition, Obama still managed to retain much of his 2008 map because of the GOP’s deficiencies with the voters who are changing the political face of once conservative-leaning Virginia, Florida, Colorado and Nevada. Republicans face a crisis: The country is growing less white, and their coalition has become more white in recent years. In 2004, George W. Bush won 44 percent of Hispanics. Four years later, John McCain, the author of an immigration reform bill, took 31 percent of Hispanics. And this year, Romney captured only 27 percent of Hispanics.
