Why did Romney lost ?

So, election's over, Obama gained four more years, Romney's been destroyed he didn't won any swing state...
How do you explain it ? What caused such a defeat ?

No it wasn't. No....it wasn't. 332 (which is what it will be when they call Florida) to 206, with the decision coming before 11:30 EST is NOT a close election by any stretch of the imagination. And Obama won the popular by approx 2.5 million (I dunno if they're counting Fla. in that one yet) makes it even more of a rout. I said elsewhere, and I'll say it here, the time that the election was called makes it a landslide for Obama. Romney was poleaxed. Deal with the rejection.

To answer the OP, Romney lost because people don't trust him. And they shouldn't. The tax return thing killed him. The constant refutation of his "facts" was an albatross around his neck. And the fact that you can only be President if you want to be President and not because you don't want the other guy to be was a deal killer. The man could hardly get his own Party to endorse him. This is all forgotten now, and they'll find their own lame reasons. But Mitt Romney was the Republican equivalent of Mike Dukakis.

The 47% speech didn't help him. People were also not sure about someone who does not belong to a "traditional" form of religon (Latter Day Saints/Mormon). Also when he discussed loosening some of the regulations on banks cost some votes. The main issue that wasn't in the poll was changing Medicare. Senior citizens are the one group that will vote. Changing their health care or the threat of increasing cost or limiting benefits is not a way to get their vote.

And I called it on another thread. Will or Sam would use the map as justification to rework the electoral college. Cows and corn can't vote, people do. Suck it up and hope the party can put together something in the coming elections. You do realize we have them more than every 4 years. If you don't like the big boys at the top then stop them at the local level. Mayors, school boards, freeholders. We had a ballot issue here in NJ to have judges kick in for their medical and retirement. It passed 83-17 percent. Who were these 17% that said no? People that only come out every 4 years and bitch when their land taxes goes up.

Will, where in the hell did you learn math? 24 states went blue with DC to make 25 and when Florida's done, 26. More electoral votes went to Obama but it's pretty split down the middle as far as states are concerned.
